    The store manager himself stated exactly how obsolete his position and store really are. Poor customer service at the top. I am a new customer who transferred from another carrier. I ordered my phone and service from the internet with telephone cust service and arranged for a store pickup. Even though I was told the order was ready, the store had me wait 15 minutes until they could process my order and place my phone in the bag. I decided to initiate the service at the store and immediately had problems with the transfer of my number. One worker did work with me for 30 minutes (meaning I waited 30 minutes while she spoke and was hold with the port center) and I left the store late for a scheduled appointment being told that the phone was ready to connect to Verizon. About an hour later, the new phone still wouldn't connect so I made a reservation at the same store. When I arrived, there was little care from the manager to attend to the reservation. He instead attended to a single female customer who he instructed in 3 minute intervals how to walk through a phone menu. This shows ineptness in managerial skills in not being able to attend to two easy customers, especially since one had a reservation and was acknowledged as being in the store earlier and is still having the same problem. When I griped, he literally stated. "Since you purchased this online or over the telephone, technically, MY STORE IS ONLY RESPONSIBLE FOR PUTTING IT IN THE BAG AND GIVING IT TO YOU." This manager just admitted that his store is nothing more than a lowly retail pickup area and doesn't need to apply customer service when there is a verizon connection problem. The manager states that the verizon store is inept in being able to assist with anything more than placing merchandise in a bag. What an insult to his employees. Given his lack of enthusiasm to deliver his job duty of customer service, he acknowledges that a remote control box can do his work. Even after they "fixed" the problem and told me that there wouldn't be connection issues, I still had connection issues. I left the store at the end of the day spending more than 2 hours total waiting for verizon to fix their problem only to have a manager tell me that it isn't his store's responsibility and I could call the port center myself to fix it. THE MANAGER STATED AND PROVED THAT HIS STORE IS OBSOLETE AND HIS POSITION CAN BE PERFORMED BY A ROBOT AND A BOX. He should know that the corporate office is already testing the concept of replacing his position and he is proving the merit of their research.
