There are many examples; Verizon, Charter/Spectrum, etc. They hide behind automated attendant to avoid facing the very reason they exist - the CUSTOMER! Then, if you are clever enough to navigate your way through a mind numbing extension prompts, you get someone who will "be happy to assist you with your concern/issue" who's usually named "Sheri, Tiffany, or Julie". But, "unfortunately, your specific concern/issue will need to be handled by a different department" so if "you allow one moment to be transferred to that department". Where, of course, another representative "David, Stephen or Bill" will be "sorry that it's taken a bit longer to resolve your discover issue/concern" but if you'll "allow one moment to be placed in a brief hold" he wants to briefly read the notes to " better assist you"... you think you're on-hold only to realize after :30 your call is been dropped.
