I recently received a call from my local Verizon store about upcoming Black Friday deals. It was timely—I’m replacing my phone and considering a new Samsung watch. Normally, I ignore cold sales calls, but since this was from the store down the street, I figured I’d give it a chance.
The representative started pitching promotions, claiming he could make my plan more affordable while also offering a $600 Samsung watch at little to no extra cost. I was skeptical, of course. But as we reviewed my account, he pointed out a line I no longer needed—one I’ve been paying for over the past three years. I asked to address that issue first before continuing the conversation about the watch.
That’s when the call abruptly ended. He hung up the moment I brought up something that didn’t involve a commission.
This kind of commission-driven service is incredibly frustrating. Customers want genuine help managing their accounts, not to be upsold at every turn. When support is tied to sales incentives, it creates a toxic experience where our needs come second to their bottom line.

Before I sent my phone to repair, I went to the Verizon shop to get help to save and back up the informations including more than thousands of contacts. By the time I got back the phone, I go back to ask for help to retrieve those infor and contacts, there were nothing were saved, and I lost all info and more than thousands of contacts, the manager "Ben??" I guessed, blamed it on me that I didn't do it myself. What kind of customer service is that????
