  My personal data was leaked by Xfinity, and immediately after this breach, I was targeted by a scammer posing as an Xfinity representative. The timing made it clear that the scammer had access to my customer information. On the same day my iPhone 16 was delivered, I received a call from someone claiming to be with Xfinity. They contacted me directly on my new line right after delivery. The caller told me my phone had been “locked on purpose” and that I needed to send it back to be replaced. They provided a code and a bar to scan, which appeared legitimate. I took the phone to UPS and returned it, believing I was following Xfinity’s instructions. Before this happened, I specifically told the Xfinity representative who helped me set up my new phone to add insurance to the device. He verbally confirmed that the insurance had been applied. Despite this, I was later informed that Xfinity would not honor coverage for the lost or stolen phone. After I reported what happened, I was initially told that Xfinity was aware of the data leak and would cover the loss. However, after I agreed to get a new line and new phone, Xfinity suddenly reversed their position and informed me that I now have to pay for both the original lost device and the new one. This update came conveniently after the return period for the replacement phone had expired — meaning I was left with no recourse to return it. I would not have purchased or activated a new phone if I had known that Xfinity would refuse to cover the previous loss caused by their data breach. This situation has caused unnecessary financial hardship and frustration, and I am requesting that Xfinity honor their original commitment to cover the lost device that resulted from their own data leak and the fraudulent call that followed.

  Amazing service! I had a mixup with my phone service being tied to 2 new devices that I returned and I called xfinity mobile services and had 2 people help me to no avail before I came in person and Melissa fixed it within 20 minutes.
