Will, the department manager, is extremely rude. He hung up on me while on the phone with him asking me about my order, and said he had no ETA when my online order will arrive. He was extremely rude, unhelpful, and not apologetic at all for the order being 1 week plus delayed. Worst REI experience of my 10 years as a member - this guy doesn’t not belong in a customer facing role. The cashiers are the stores were much more helpful than the manager.

I was helped by a very knowledgeable employee named Grace! I was impressed with how much she was able to teach me about different fabric types and I left feeling confident in my purchase as a result. You rock Grace!

This used to be a great store. I went twice to buy shoes and the 2 staff there made me feel as if they were doing me a huge favor for bringing me shoes. Today, I asked a a gym bag and the staff said: We don’t have any and walked away. Didn’t even show me the duffel bags the had. Definitely staff need training.

There is always knowledgeable helpful staff. Today Will and Daisy were absolutely amazing! This was the only painless shoe shopping we have ever had with my mother...

I recently went to REI to pickup a package. I have picked up packages before and it was always quick and easy. I show my ID and grab my package and it takes 2 minutes. I got to the counter and I let the cashier know that I had a pickup and that there were 2 packages (from the same order) that were shipped separately. The cashier seemed perplexed and asked me to pay for a $7 item (a keychain that shipped separately). I had assumed my order was already paid for but I swiped my card. I then had to swipe it 4 more times. She said there was an issue and called her manager over. I asked if I could pay in cash but they said "no" and still explained nothing. She made me swipe my card several times (I checked my account to make sure there wasn't a fraud hold and it was fine). I finally asked if I could just get the other package in my order and they finally relented. I then asked if I could please have the second part of my order and they begrudgingly gave it to me. When I checked my account I had been charged for the orders. I get that REI charges upon delivery/pickup of order. But what I don't get is the lack of communication from the cashier and manager. The lack of apology for the fact that it took 15 minutes to pick up a package. I was kind and patient but I was treated indifferently and the whole matter left a bad taste in my mouth. I did nothing wrong but patronize REI's business and the whole transaction was a disaster. I have been a member since 2015.
