For example, I found north face freedom ski pants online for $66 in my size (Amazon) but I saw today in REI they are selling for full price ($200) As of today 1/2/26, I don’t see that great of store closing sales. Most things are still regular price . The used gear section is an additional 20% off. And there are a few green sticker items that are 30% off but barely anything has a green sticker . Also, inventory of winter gear is minimal, I didn’t see any insulated boots, barely anything selection of goretex gloves. Way more selection online

- MRMichael RobinsDec 26, 20251.0I went to the Paramus location to return an item that is clearly eligible under REI’s return policy, and what should have been a simple process turned into an awful and humiliating experience. The manager, Steven, was completely unhelpful from the start. Not only did he refuse to process the return, he wouldn’t clearly explain why he was denying it. Instead of trying to resolve the issue or even communicate respectfully, he escalated the situation for no reason. Steven spoke to me in a condescending way, and made a scene that was embarrassing and unnecessary. I was essentially forced to leave without any real explanation, despite being a paying member who followed the policy. This was some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. REI promotes itself as customer-friendly and member-focused, but this location and especially this manager did not reflect those values at all. I will not be returning to the Paramus store and will think twice before renewing my membership if this is how customers are treated.

I purchased Yakima Skyline+Corebars here and got them installed by their staff. They were really helpful and good at their job. I also purchased this Thule Force 3 L and I was surprised that the staff actually mounted it to my roof rack. Exceptional customer service.
