Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. We were surprised to learn that room cleaning is not provided until three days into the stay, which was never clearly communicated in advance. As a result, towels, trash, and used items piled up quickly, forcing us to leave things on the floor just to manage day to day.
What made it worse was that on the 4th
day, housekeeping removed used towels but did not make the beds or clean the room at all. No vacuuming, no bathroom cleaning, no bed service—nothing. It felt incomplete and unhygienic, especially for a hotel of this size and reputation.
Basic daily cleanliness should be a standard, not an exception. This experience fell far below expectations and made our stay uncomfortable. We hope management seriously reconsiders this policy and improves communication and housekeeping standards for future guests.
For some reasons it won’t let me respond on the hotel reply but we won’t be staying at this hotel anymore

1st, always pay attention to the fine print. we were comped 4 nights at the hotel, but the verbage was "up to" 4 night stay, with no confirmation until check in how many nights you actually will be comped. when we showed up, out of the 4 nights only 1 was comped, the other 3 nights were $180 per night with one night "discounted" to half off and still costing $100 for that night with the resort fees and taxes. you can go to a staybridge suites and get a full amenities room for less, with a full kitchen and living room.
next, the important part. while taking a shower i forgot to lay a towel outside the shower before getting into the shower. one wouldn't think this would be a serious mistake, however it was for me. when stepping onto the tile floor with a wet foot my foot immediately slipped and then so did the one inside the shower making me do a splits, landing on my hip on the corner of the shower slider entrance, landing on my right hand and folding my pinky, second finger and my wrist back, spraining them all. we called the front desk, who sent security up to check on me and make an incidence report and ask me if i needed emergency services(an ambulance) since they have no medical staff on site. i said i would go to the ER in the morning if i felt it necessary, because i wasn't comfortable with getting an ambulance bill for a sprained wrist.
the staff did their job, as they were obviously trained to do, which was to have me sign a waiver saying i declined emergency services and to write the report about the incident. at no time did anyone check me, look at my hip or wrist, inspect the shower or wet floor, offer me a cold or hot pack for my wrist/hip, or even offer me a tylenol or ibuprofen for the pain.
So next was the room, full of ikea style furniture that mostly was broken with loose hinges, doors dragging on the floor, not a single USB plug in the room actually worked, including the ones dangling loosely from an obviously broken plug on the cheap $8 alarm clock on the desk. the TV constantly buffered and reset itself, would lag on the TV guide menu, the fridge was lukewarm and not cold at all and the room felt like it was eerie and dark inside. basically the room felt worse than a motel 6 inside.
the 8th floor where we were placed had suites next to us, ours had one with a pool table right next to ours, they had a family gathering and all the noises in that room echoed into ours from the solid floors under the large gap in the adjoining room access door. kids were yelling, crying and even tried to open the door to our room.... it's was a frustrating experience. the desk clerk checking us in even said it was slow for the holidays, but they still felt compelled to only offer the single complimentary room night. paying $500 for 3 nights stay, i would have gone elsewhere had i known the hotel was this bad.
the casino itself was odd, there's a clerk checking IDs, when they feel like it. the slots generally paid out pathetic bonus rounds until the casino felt it was time to just take all your money in one long chunk of near zero pay outs. your odds of leaving the casino with your money still in your wallet are near 0 here, which isn't uncommon but the allure of winning something still taints the air. i'd suggest just tossing $50 on red or black at a roulette table and you'll get just as much enjoyment and have better odds of leaving with something.
the casino club card is dense, requiring you to put an app on your phone, give your phone number, email address and even link to a wallet to get the free play. Ameristar 2 miles up the road requires nothing more than an ID and basic personal information. you don't need a phone app, or link to an online wallet to get the rewards. the hotel rooms are also 10 stars compared to this 1 star shabby, cheap feeling hotel.
in essence, this was my worst vacation hotel stay in my whole 50 year life. we could have booked the room online for less than the "comp rates". the slip in the shower was the topped for how bad this place is. my wallet was empty and i had less than 0 fun.

1/8/2026 CAGE MANAGER REFUSED TO GIVE ME MY CASH ADVANCE. AFTER I DEMANDED ANOTHER MANAGER AND A NUMBER TO CALL, SHE CALLED SECURITY. AS I WAS WALKING OUT A SECURITY GUARD TRIPPED ME AND I FELL ON THE GROUND. HE THEN STOOD OVER ME AND GOT IN MY FACE LIKE HE WAS ALL BIG AND BAD AND GRABBED 3 OF HIS BOYS. AT THAT POINT I WASN'T EVEN IN THE CASINO AND HE WAS STILL RUNNING HIS MOUTH. LOST MY BUSINESS FOREVER! I'VE BEEN COMING HERE FOR 20 YEARS! Just like every other Penn destination the slot RTP is the lowest in gaming history. It's so smoky here you can hardly breathe. If you get a room, they charge a resort fee without a resort. And it's 15 bucks to go to any concert on the property as well regardless of tier. The VIP Lounge is a joke just like the sportsbook. They are SO CHEAP they don't even pay for the channels so you can watch the game in addition to betting on it. Just give them your money and go home is their motto. No breakfast, no buffet, basically nothing for their guests. Whatever you do, don't become elite or owner! Watch how you will no longer hit like you used to. The Hollywood Grind is a joke, out of everything and no expiration on any of pastries. I just observed TONS of flies in the display. Basically, if you like flashy lighting and to literally throw your money in a hole and burn it, go to Hollywood. But don't expect them to treat you like they care whether you do or don't. Haven't hit a slot here in over 15 years.
