Five stars for Mooney at Epic Mountain Gear in Lone Tree. I worked with Mooney to get a new pair of ski boots. I’m a ski instructor and know a thing or two about boots and boot fitting. Mooney took the time to get to know me and got me “sized” up perfectly. I was impressed by his knowledge about boots, willingness to listen, and genuine concern about what would be best for me.

This location is always helpful, courteous, and has an amazing selection for skiing gear. I bought new ski boots in August and went back on 10/26/2025 to have them heat molded. Jason immediately greeted me with a warm handshake and genuine professionalism.
I mentioned some concerns about my right foot, and Jason took the time to explain everything, make careful adjustments, and ensure a perfect fit. He was knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about what he does. I left feeling completely confident and comfortable in my new boots.
Exceptional service like this is hard to find. Thank you, Jason, for your expertise and all the great tips to get ready for the ski season! Highly recommend this store and their amazing staff.

Below was my original 1-star rating. But within a few hours after posting this, the manager called me on the phone to hear more about my experience. I really appreciate the extra effort, and therefore changing my 1-star into a 5-star. Thank you Preston!

I’ve been to this Epic location several times recently, and unfortunately, my experiences have been disappointing. In the past, I’ve noticed that some employees show very little kindness or patience toward families with children. While my kids can be energetic and sometimes a bit loud, they are generally well-behaved. Still, it’s become clear over multiple visits that certain staff members are not particularly welcoming toward children—or at least mine—and their lack of warmth and customer service has been disheartening.
On my most recent visits, I encountered an employee (whose name I have noted) who was especially rude and dismissive. Last week, when I stopped in alone to confirm my kids’ ski passes for the year, she seemed irritated by my questions and offered little help regarding the children’s ski program. Today, when I returned with my kids to get them fitted for ski gear, the same employee handled our checkout. Once again, she was unfriendly, and when my child lightly touched a mannequin, she immediately scolded him for “playing” with it. I completely understand the need to maintain displays, but a bit more patience and kindness would go a long way toward making families feel welcome and valued.
On a positive note, the gentleman who helped fit my kids for their gear was outstanding—kind, friendly, and genuinely attentive. My kids even commented on how nice he was. His excellent customer service made a big difference in our experience, and I truly hope other employees will follow his example.
