Buttermilk is one mountain with two personalities. Best known around the world for being home to the Winter X Games and the Red Bull Double Pipe event, the mountain has become an icon for freestyle riders and skiers, who hit up the Buttermilk Park to see what they're made of. But the mountain is also easy-going for beginners and families, boasting uncrowded beginner terrain and The Hideout, an innovative learning center for young skiers. Plus, it is adored by uphillers who make the trek up Tiehack to Cliffhouse daily.
Buttermilk is highly recommended as an excellent place for beginners and families, with many green and blue runs and supportive instructors.

Buttermilk is an absolute paradise for snowboarders! It’s home to the Winter X Games, the terrain park setup is incredible. One time they had a double half pipe. There are jumps, rails, boxes, and features for every skill level, from beginners just learning to advanced riders who want to hit the big lines. It’s one of the best parks I’ve ever ridden.
During the X Games, the whole mountain comes alive with awesome live concerts, energy, and great vibes everywhere. Even when the event isn’t going on, Buttermilk has a fun, laid-back atmosphere that makes it perfect for riders who love freestyle terrain without the intense crowds of the bigger Aspen resorts.
The runs are smooth, well-maintained, and the views are classic Colorado beauty mountains for miles. Whether you’re here to shred the park, cruise mellow groomers, or just hang out in the X Games vibe, Buttermilk is a must for any snowboarder. 🏂.

Amazing place for concerts! The Up in the Sky nights were unforgettable — mountains, music, and atmosphere all coming together for pure magic. 🎶✨ I hope they keep doing more events like this.
Only tweak? The shuttle wait after — smooth that out and the whole experience is flawless.
