- LFLinda FrancisNov 6, 20252.0Well at first I thought I was happy. I brought in a trike and asked them to 'make it safe for this old fat lady'. Told them my concerns, was quoted a fair price. They fixed rear drum brake, front brake pads and then told me my derailleur was not sufficient and I agreed to a new derailleur. I bought a new bigger seat and they agreed to install at no cost. Awesome... NOT.... I took it to the beach and the chain came off the front gear and the seat kept falling down. Took it back and the first person to greet me said.... "I don't want to offend you but this is a cheap trike". Long story short I countered with .. 'is it still cheap with the new derailleur?' So he tightened up my seat and off I went for my next test ride. NO good. Took it too another shop in OB to fix the sinking seat. Long story short, I need a new seat post and my handle bars started moving. Now looking for someone that won't be embarrassed to help me with a 'cheap' trike. I feel Trek took advantage of me, especially since I asked them to go thru this trike with a fine tooth comb (basically) and they did the bare minimum and charged me almost $300 bucks and it's still not safe!!! The $300 isn't the concern, it's the fact they didn't make sure it was safe!!

He was able to let us test different models and when the original purchase did not meet my needs, we were able to easily exchange it and pay the difference for the new option, which I have enjoyed a lot more.
