Let everyone in with 0 intention of letting people pay. Manager could have chosen to not let people in until they could ring people up but instead did NOT inform people coming in of the issue although it was heavily overstaffed. I suggested to take exact change and ring it in later as I have done in multiple retail situations where I cared about the employers income. The response I got was that it was against policy to do that. If so then well, there is no fixing a company that makes it a policy to refuse to ring people up but lets them in to shop. However I suspect that instead the managers are just completely inept at their job and only hire people who want to cheer lead for him personally, that was the vibe I got. I am aware the register type they have is keyed and cash accounting could happen. The disrespect of the time of the shoppers is almost unparalleled. I had to inform the shoppers of the situation that management was refusing to take payment due to the computer issue. If the employees hadn't lied and lied about the power being off (lights were on) the scales not working (the readout for the scales face the customer) and who was a manager (some other person was brought and when I asked why they don't do something reasonable, the deferred to the actual manager) and that they had already told everyone of the situation (I wasn't told and there was an employee right at the entrance) then I might not bother to write a review. However any manager who chooses not to take money from a willing customer probably deserves to have the area manager hear about it.
