- AWAddy WNov 12, 20251.0I usually have no issues with this academy but tonight, me and my boyfriends friend as well as another friend went there after dinner riding together, one of our friends wanted to get a magazine and a gun case, (he is 21 years old and also works as a correctional officer) one of the employees had been following us around the store as well as watching us constantly. She followed us to the check out counter he gave his id to the cashier and she stopped the cashier from selling my friend these items because we were “shopping with him” and we had to be 21 as well for him to be able to buy a magazine and a gun case, sounds ridiculous but if those are the restrictions, he then asked if he could drop us off and come back and she refused! I felt terrible for my friend as he felt racially profiled and singled out, we will most definitely never come back to this store for these products and will 100% be contacting a district manager for the racism my friend endured tonight!

He was friendly, thoughtful, patient, professional and knowledgeable and super helpful. We left to look at other options, we left and came back because of his help! At checkout, he even went out of his way to make sure it was absolutely perfect for me to ride and enjoy! We love coming to Academy, here in Edmond. All of the staff are super friendly! Thank you Hank and the team!
