The associate working there, who had short hair, kept watching and following us around. Every time I picked up an item, she would immediately come over to ask if we needed help. I politely said, “No thank you, we’re just looking,” but she continued to watch us closely. I also noticed that she didn’t treat other customers this way — even those who were opening boxes. When I asked for a price on one of the items, she made a face, took the product out of my hand, and walked away with it. She then stood off to the side, still watching us. The whole interaction made my friends and me feel uncomfortable and singled out. Based on how differently we were treated compared to others, it felt like the associate’s behavior may have been racially motivated. It was an upsetting and disappointing experience.
