I purchased two firearms from my local gunshop and had them shipped to Reeds Family Outdoors in Walker MN as a Christmas gift to relatives up in that area of Minnesota so they could do required 4473 background checks and pick up the firearms in their area. I paid for the firearms and paid to have them shipped next day in time for the holidays. Confirmation from my local gunshop that Reeds had received the firearms a day or two prior. It’s now been three weeks later and Reeds can’t get the order from their warehouse to their retail store so that my family member can fill out the required paperwork and take possession of their holiday gifts. I call and keep getting told that they are working on it but seems to be no headway. Twice I was told that I would be getting a call to let me know the status and never got a call. Reeds said that they charge $40 per firearm for the background check and transfer which is high plus it appears to take the better part of a month to happen. I have worked in firearms sales in the past and understand the necessary documentation and inventory requirements but this should have happened in less than half of the time. If you need an FFL in the Walker MN area I would recommend you find someone else. Reeds will definitely not make your firearms transfer a priority.
