I have had great experiences at this store before. They must have had a change in crew members, or the same crew that was amazing turned rude on this day because I was making a return? I guess I will never know. Every time I go, it is a positive experience. The last time I went, I made a mistake. I was not there to drop $500 but instead to return the sunglasses suggested by "Angie" (employee). She told me the sunglasses she was selling me were the best for riding. False! The sunglasses turned out to be horrible for the purpose I told Angie I wanted them for.
I have never returned a pair of sunglasses at that store, as they always work for what I want perfectly, but not this time. Angie said she loved them and had a pair, which I highly doubt because they don't work for the purpose intended. As soon as I said I wanted to return them, Angie and Marty (the other employee) became hostile. They became extremely rude and confrontational with their body language and gave me and my family a horrible glance from time to time. Both Marty and Angie said I could not return them. Adding to the insult, Angie stated, "You know, I read the review you left me," as if I was supposed to be scared of Angie. She continued to repeat that a few more times as a tactic to make me leave, maybe?
Marty was then involved, and he was as useless as Angie. He said that there was nothing they could do, expecting me to leave. I said no way I am keeping a 300 dollar pair of sunglasses that do not work for their intended purposes when I have purchased from them about seven other pairs without issue. Angie and Marty walked away and began to help other people. They could not be more rude. Plus the comment "I read your review" was hilarious because I have never left her a review. When I make a review, I make mine public with my name so that everyone knows it is a real person, not someone hiding behind anonymity.
A short time later, Juniper showed up. Juniper was amazing! I am extremely sorry that Juniper had to be mentioned in a one-star post because she literally turned things around. Juniper was kind and patient, answered all of my questions, and JUNIPER HELPED ME. I may return to the store only because of Juniper. If Juniper was not there, I would have lost the money on sunglasses that were worthless for their intended use. Angie, this is the first review I leave including Marty. Angie, you are cocky, rude, and think way to much of yourself. Marty, this is also my first review regarding you. Marty, you simply do not know what you are doing and, like Angie, are as conceited as they come. Angie, since you apparently recognize me from a review I did not leave before, if you see me in the store, do a 180-degree turn and mind your own business and pretend to be working in another section of the store.
Juniper, you are a true representation of the brand. Your politeness, calm voice, calm body language, and genuine desire to help were visible during my visit. If I need more shades and go with Oakley again, it will be because of you. You are a leader by example and by what you say and an extreme asset to the company. If I go back, I will probably not see you, as you have likely moved up to another position. Every time I reach for my Oakleys, I think of how embarrassing Angie and Marty were and also how kind and helpful you (Juniper) were. Thank you, Juniper, for saving the Oakley brand. - Dr. Caban
