I visited the store with the intention of exchanging a pair of shoes for a smaller size that were purchased on a Nordstrom card, which could have easily resulted in an additional sale; however, my experience in the women’s shoe department was disappointing. After explaining my situation to an associate he was a tall African American Man and stating I would retrieve my receipt, he walked away mid-conversation to assist another customer, leaving me and two others waiting while also being overlooked by additional associates. Because of this treatment, I chose to take my transaction to another register, where Mason assisted me promptly and professionally. Mason was courteous, attentive, and made the process smooth and respectful, but unfortunately, due to the earlier service, what should have been a straightforward exchange and potential sale ended as a return. This was a disappointing way to start the new year.

Almost every time I order from Nordstrom there is a problem. I absolutely love the products the store has to offer, but the way I was treated was frustrating. I had a pick up order I placed on Monday in the afternoon that was to be READY on Monday. I contacted both the store and a chat Tuesday to try to see what was going on and each person I spoke to just told me there will be an update when there’s an update. I understand with the holidays there is heavier traffic, but this was an item I was SEARCHING for all day on Monday and thought i had gotten lucky with my order. I’m extremely disappointed in this experience and may not ever do an order through Nordstrom again. If someone would’ve just told me it was out of stock and would be cancelled I would’ve been able to make an overnight purchase somewhere else..

I am writing this review to formally document a very concerning and disappointing experience at the Nordstrom location in Twelve Oaks Mall that I believe reflects discriminatory treatment and poor customer service. On December 8, 2025, I visited this store with my niece while we were on a 20-minute waitlist at The Cheesecake Factory. Our first visit was between approximately 2:00–2:18 PM while waiting for our table to be ready. During this visit, I was shopping for a Sorel boot I had seen online. I found a pair I liked better in store, but there was no price displayed on the shoe, only a Nordstrom barcode inside. My niece and I stood in the Sorel section clearly waiting for assistance. During this time, multiple associates, both Black and White, looked directly at us and avoided helping us. We greeted associates and received no response. Specifically: A White male associate wearing a plaid shirt looked at us and turned away. A Black male associate in a tan/cream sweater standing at the register near the Sorel shoes did not assist us. A Black female associate wearing a Christmas sweater looked at us; when I attempted to greet her, she walked away to the back. Eventually, a tall Black male associate with a low haircut scanned the shoe and told us the price was $200. At that moment (around 2:18 PM), we received the text from The Cheesecake Factory that our table was ready. I told him we would return shortly, and he joked that we “better come back.” We returned later that day between approximately 4:00–4:45 PM to complete the purchase. Unfortunately, the same pattern continued. The same associates were present, and once again, we were ignored while holding the shoes, while associates assisted White and Middle Eastern/Arab customers around us. We stood second in line at the register closest to the stockroom door. A White woman stood next to us, and the Black female associate in the Christmas sweater walked past us and asked the White woman if she needed help, once again overlooking us. The White male associate in the plaid shirt later agreed to check my size. He returned with a half size too small, which I explained would not fit since I was already wearing Sorel boots. He offered to check Somerset Mall, which I declined. When I mentioned possibly ordering online, he packed up the shoes and walked away without explanation. My niece then asked the Black male associate in the tan/cream sweater for help. He responded dismissively, repeatedly asking if someone was already helping us. After I clarified that the associate had walked away, he agreed to assist. He confirmed there were 96 pairs available online and agreed to order them for shipping. I took out $250 in cash. He stated cash would need to be placed on a gift card first, which I agreed to. However, during this transaction: He stopped assisting us mid-process to engage a White female customer, repeatedly checking on her. He asked, “How much do you want on the gift card, or do I have to figure that out too?” despite not providing a total. Instead of completing our purchase, he walked away again, stating he didn’t want to “lose” the other customer and wanted to make sure she got her shoes. At that point, despite being ready to purchase and actively in the middle of a transaction, we were clearly not a priority. Feeling disrespected and discriminated against, my niece and I left the store without making a purchase. I am providing specific dates, times, clothing descriptions, and locations so this experience can be reviewed if needed, as I did not collect names due to how upsetting the situation was. Unfortunately, this location fell far below my standards. No customer should feel ignored or treated differently while attempting to spend money in your store. No customer should discriminated against.

As much money as I spend at Nordstrom. I’m very upset about how the worker in the men’s department treated me. Dewayne was very rude and unprofessional. I walked on to do few returns and the man at the counter told me to go to the other desk were Dewayne was to do a return. I get to the desk and Dewayne gives me attitude because i had multiple returns (size to small). He tells me that it’s inconvenience because I had to do each return separately because I bought gifts for different people. Then tells me I should go return the shoes in the shoe department and the kids stuff in the kids department. He walks away in the middle of the transaction and goes helps to other people while I’m waiting at the counter then tells me that I need to take my stuff to different register because he wasn’t going to return my stuff. The whole time he’s being extremely rude and getting loud for no reason. All I was trying to do is return the items. Thanks to a very nice lady name Sue who came over and ended up do the returns for me without a problem. Never have I been treated like that before especially over a return

We purchased an Aesop fragrance gift set today and asked if it could be wrapped as a gift. The salesperson said yes, but what followed was shockingly unprofessional. The first attempt was so careless and sloppy that we were forced to start fixing it ourselves. Instead of properly correcting the work, the salesperson called over another employee who proceeded to slap duct tape all over the packaging, completely destroying the presentation and making it look cheap, messy, and embarrassing to give as a gift. We ultimately had to stop them and take the item home to rewrap it ourselves because they were actively making the situation worse. To make matters even more unpleasant, both employees were rude, dismissive, and visibly irritated when we simply asked for a bag to leave. The entire experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable—especially for a store selling premium products.
