The thing that was disappointing was a couple of the store representatives felt the need to follow me around as someone whom they thought they needed to "watch" while my spouse went to use the restroom. As business owners ourselves, I would encourage the wonderful management team to teach its sales associates that when they experience a situation where they think someone might steal to [engage] the potential customer(s), as they have NOT stolen anything yet, and simply ask, "How might I be of some assistance today?" Studies show that that simple engagement (while looking them in the eyes) reduces the likelihood someone will take something from the premises because they know you've seen and can identify them.
