  Jack at Scheels was seriously top-tier. From the moment I walked in, he actually paid attention to what I needed instead of just trying to sell me something. Super knowledgeable, answered every question clearly, and gave honest recommendations without any pressure. What stood out most was how he went out of his way to make sure everything was right—fit, quality, and value. You can tell he knows his stuff and actually cares about helping people, not just making a sale. If you’re going to Scheels, ask for Jack. Makes the whole experience way smoother.

  Shout out to Morgan at Customer Service. I purchased a women’s Pfleuger rod/reel combo and had it strung in the fishing dept. The guy that strung it in the fishing dept. didn’t screw the handle back in properly and the screw wasn’t setting right for me. I brought it to customer service and Morgan happened to have the same rod/reel and got it set right. Thank you to Morgan for going above and beyond!

  Went to buy a Yoder smoker that I had been looking at. Found out that they only have the one on the floor and that I would have to wait over 5+ weeks to get mine. Called around and The Kansas City BBQ Store in Olathe let me know that them and their other store American Fire BBQ in Lees Summit carried them and had a bunch in stock. Went in and talked with Kie and Jimmy at the store in Olathe and they were very knowledgeable. They also let me know that I was not the only person that experienced this. It’s crazy that a big store like this would not keep a bunch of these in stock to sell that day especially with the price of them! For sure not going to buy anything BBQ related from here and will be going back to The Kansas City BBQ Store! They had so many accessories, rubs and sauces, charcoal, wood, everything a BBQ person would need!

  I purchased a firearm from this location and waited the required five days for the background check to clear. When I arrived to pick it up, a young female employee took my ID and receipt, briefly looked at them, and handed them back to me before going to the back. I waited about 20 minutes with no update. Prior to this, she had already been quite rude and even assisted customers who arrived after me before acknowledging me. After waiting those 20 minutes, I approached her again to ask if there had been any progress in locating my firearm. She asked for my ID again and abruptly pushed my receipt back toward me as I handed both to her. I ultimately waited nearly an hour before asking another employee to check on the situation, as I needed to leave soon to pick up my child. The overall experience felt disorganized and the customer service was disappointing. I’d only buy here again if the deal made the experience worth the headache of rude customer service. Worst gun buying experience ever.

  My husband and daughter visited the store today (03/05/26) around 11:00 AM CST to look for and try on shoes for my daughter in the women’s section. Unfortunately, the two employees working in that area did not acknowledge them at all or offer any assistance. Customer service should be basic and consistent for everyone who walks into a store. My family is Hispanic, and the way they were ignored made the experience feel discriminatory and unwelcoming. No customer should feel that way when simply trying to shop. Because of this experience, we will be taking our business elsewhere and will not be returning to this store.
