Carhartt Wicker Park was the third North American store opened by Carhartt in the Spring of 2011. This store is unique as it sits in a neighborhood full of small boutiques and restaurants but still remains true to the hard working Carhartt customer. The fabrication of our store is made from old factory flooring and Singer Sewing table stands. We are also located in the original People’s Gas and Light Company Building. Chicago, sitting just west of Lake Michigan, endures long and cold winters. We are here whether you need a beanie, socks, a coat, or even a durable dog bed.
The staff is frequently described as friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, with many customers praising their assistance in finding products and sizes.
Product Selection
While many customers appreciate the variety of Carhartt clothing available, some express disappointment in the limited stock of certain items and sizes.
Store Atmosphere
The store is noted for being clean and well-organized, contributing to a positive shopping experience, although some customers felt uncomfortable due to perceived biases.
Quality Concerns
Several reviews mention a decline in product quality compared to previous experiences, with some customers feeling the store caters more to casual shoppers than to working professionals.
Mixed Experiences
While many customers report excellent service, there are instances of rude or unprofessional behavior from specific staff members, leading to a varied overall impression.

From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the level of service I received. I was greeted by Joshua, who has truly a lot of product knowledge. He didn't just try to sell me something he guided me through the variety of jackets taking the time to understand what I wanted and recommending what would suit me best. I will definitely be coming back.

Went there to shop for insulated bibs. You'd think they would have a large selection but they had one style out of the 5 or 6 they make. I pulled them off the rack just to see they looked used, the inside waste was all stained. This store is not for the working man. They focus more on selling you shirts and beanies to go drink your soy lattes in.

As a POC, it’s already tough enough to enter these predominantly white spaces. I came here yesterday because my wife wanted to get me something for my birthday. I like Carhartt because I’m a tall guy and their clothes fit me perfectly. As we walk in, we don’t get a “welcome” just get ignored by the workers. That’s fine, not the first time this happens to us.
As we’re walking around looking at the merchandise, we notice that there was one guy, could’ve been the manager, that kept staring at us. As we would move around the store he kept coming in closer to where my wife and I were. Kinda felt like our presence wasn’t well received, like if they were extra cautious of us.
This ruined the shopping experience but I still went ahead and finished my purchase, wasn’t going to let these micro aggressions bother me. Didn’t expect to feel uncomfortable here but it is Wicker Park.
