I ordered flowers for my mom who is in Florida for her birthday. I live in Ohio. I wanted something that resembled "Florida" so I chose Port Charlotte Florist after many hours of research. I wanted the flowers delivered on her bday as a surprise. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Day of her bday, she was out celebrating and "ignored" calls from an unknown number. When she came home there was a note on the door that she missed a flower delivery. She called and was informed she had flowers waiting for her, she asked them, " would it be easier for you to just deliver tomorrow". They said, "Actually yes." So she agreed. Much disappointment on my part for a birthday gift but my mom is kind so so I let it go.
Following day, after her bday, she waited for the delivery that never came before noon and had plans again, so she drove all the way to the shop to pick up the flowers herself. While there she asked if her daughter could be reimbursed for the delivery cost and was told "Absolutely not."
I take some blame in this, perhaps I should have included instructions to just leave on "porch". Regardless, the "surprise" and feeling of "excitement" was not met. Instead, it was an absolute embarrassment. Why is my mom rearranging her schedule for a flower delivery? One I paid for? The "surprise and excitement" for a birthday gift was instead a hassle for my mom and I am utterly embarrassed.
Never, ever again will I use this company. You are in the business of delivering joy and excitement instead, I had to apologize to my mom for a gift that required her going out of her way to get. Unless you are ordering flowers for a location that has someone that can accept them immediately, send a card and Amazon gift card via USPS. This hassle is not worth it and you pay for said hassle.
PS Flowers were fine, not worth the price paid, especially not worth the added delivery fee that never happened.
PSS Also, Yes I could have requested a specific delivery time. 1. Ruining the "surprise" 2. Also add an add'l cost of $20/30

My daughter tried to surprise me with flowers on my birthday. Unfortunately, I was not home. I was at the YMCA when they tried to deliver and call. I do not answer a phone call if I don"tI recognize the number. I didn't hear the phone duh, I was at the Y. The next day I called to inquire when the delivery would be. It was mid afternoon which interfered with my plans. I told the the florist I would just drive down and pick up the flowers myself. I also asked for the delivery charge to be returned to my daughter. They refused. I find this to be bad customer service. The manager Mary refused to reimburse the 16.
50 fee to my daughter.
My advice to you is to make sure you are home if a surprise delivery is coming your way!!! Beware of this florist.

The selection of flowers is large, and if you like to make your own arrangements, the single stems are half price on Fridays! (Except before a holiday) I love using them for my Painting and a Picnic business because flowers add so much to a table!

Port Charlotte Florist sent a beautiful floral arrangement to The Salty Tarpon as a promotional gesture, and it was a really classy move.
The flowers were fresh, well put together, and clearly done with care. It made a great impression on both our staff and our guests, and we appreciated the thought behind supporting another local business.
Always good to see small businesses looking out for each other in our community. Thank you for the kind gesture.
