I found a tall floor lamp and asked one the associates how do I go about buying it, since I still needed to try on the clothes that were in my basket she directed me that I could leave at the front behind the register and that purchase with the rest of my items after I came out the dressing room. Well lo and behold after I came out the dressing I had a weird sense to ask another associate if the item was still being held at the front. She told me yes. She then went to the front and came back telling me that someone had just purchased it. After going to the front to tell the associate who was servicing the customers that had just purchased it while still however was still finishing up their transaction and explaining what the other associate told me, his response to me was that “Oh well until it’s purchased some can buy it.” Had I know that I would’ve gone ahead and purchased it at the time that I asked the previous associate how do I go about purchasing it. I believe the proper response from the associate was to have apologized for the experience and the confusion. Instead they laugh and treated it like it was no big deal. Well it was to me as I spent my Sunday going through that store curating items that I liked and was going to purchase one for me to bring it to the from to display for someone else to purchase it. I ended up leaving my whole basket behind because I was so upset and how it was handled and how I was treated. I won’t be coming back here anymore. After I have spent thousands of dollars at goodwill yearly And also donate many of my unused items.

Gently used clothing and household goods may be dropped off at any of our store and/or attended donation centers. We ask that large furniture be dropped off at one of our retail locations. Simply drive through any of our attendent donation center drive-thrus and a team member will assist you with your items.

Do you have a furniture pickup service?
Goodwill Manasota does not offer a furniture or single item pickup service. We do have a White Glove Service, which is a FREE packing service for an entire home. If you are downsizing, buying/selling a home, or find yourself in another transitional stage of life, Goodwill can help lessen your burden. We will come to your home or business, pack up your entire household of resellable items that you would like to donate, and transport them to our Goodwill donation centers and retail outlets. There is never a charge for the White Glove Service and we provide an itemized receipt for tax purposes.
Do you have Color of the Week sales?
Goodwill Manasota does offer Color of the Week tag sales. Get 50% off the selected color tag at participating locations. Not valid at our Bookstores or Bargain Barns. Look for signage in our stores or ask an associate for more details, or like us on Facebook to get weekly reminders. Colors change weekly, so get the great deals while they last!
