The individual sporting a nose piercing was unable to properly manage the recalibration of my interlock due to persistent computer issues. What should have been a straightforward process turned into an unexpectedly lengthy ordeal, taking not the anticipated 10 to 15 minutes, but rather a whole hour. To make matters worse, I received no offer of a discount for my wasted time, nor did I have the option to be redirected to another shop that might have provided a quicker resolution. The entire experience left me feeling quite dissatisfied.

Using a Smart Start Ignition Interlock is easy! When prompted, blow into the device for a few seconds until you hear a click that signals the test is complete.
How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.
What can breathalyzers detect?
Breathalyzers only measure your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC).
Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.
