- MMMartinAug 28, 20252.0My wife and I had to go get new passport photos, and went to London Drugs as usual for this service. However, our photos turned out much darker than in the past. Colors were dull and much darker than photos we had done here in the past. I talked to the photographer about it, but he just said it’s their new equipment?! … How can new equipment produce less quality than the old equipment in the past? He also said that people never had problems with these dull photos. Well, that might be true, but I still want well lit high quality photos when I pay a lot of money for them. So, when it was my wife’s turn to get photos, I think I spotted the problem. The white background, which used to be just a white board in the past, is now a bright backlit screen that lights up in bright white when the picture is taken. In my opinion that is what causes the dark photos, because that is the same effect as when trying to take a portrait photo of someone against a bright window in the background. We will no longer go to London Drugs for photos, until they fixed this. My recommendation is go to a real photographer and get high quality pictures done there.
