Emergency service in this apartment is really unsatisfying.
Two days ago, a continuous loud noise ( like a car engine sound) came from the apartment downstairs, which disrupted my sleep the whole night and hugely impacted my work the next day. I called the emergency line for three times during the day. Every time I called them, they said they were coming, but nobody came to deal with this frustrating noise. It's been two days, and I am sick and tired of calling them. Despite my repeated calls to the emergency line, no action has been taken to address the noise issue.
I tried to come up with my own solution, taking several painkillers to alleviate my headache, and moved my bed to the living room, where the loud sound was less effective.
It sounds ridiculous that the emergency didn't arrive in two days to solve the problems. How many more days will I wait for this situation to be solved? The continuous loud noise from the apartment downstairs disrupting my sleep and work is unacceptable. Here are my tips for newcomers: Think before you decide to stay here!!!

Pros: Kensington is a beautiful apartment complex and is takes good care of the aesthetics of the place. When my husband and I first came to Kensington, we were greeted by a wonderful ex employee named Makeia Warren who was very friendly and cordial and gave us a great tour. She kept in touch with us and took care of our concerns and issues until she left.
Cons: My husband and I have been extremely disappointed in the lack of care and concern from the employees, including the Property Manager Betty Veintemilla, since Makeia Warren left towards the end of our 2 1/2 year stay.
1. A new employee gave us attitude and was rude to us because we use the front doors to move our things out since the elevators were closed (as always).
2. We had to schedule 3 move out inspection dates because Steve, the maintenance manager, kept not showing up and never received an apology or reason from the office when it was reported.
3. Our lease was up on March 7th and we gave our notice on January 22nd which ended up being past the “60 day” notice period. This was in our lease but we hadn’t looked at our lease since we got it (because who does) and didn’t receive a courtesy call or warning or anything that we would be charged another months rent for even 2 weeks after the 60 day mark. All we received was a discount off of our rent for the month but that was it!
4. When Steve, the property manager, finally showed up for the 3rd time after failing to show before, he told us that we would only be responsible for paying a portion of the carpet and the tub. We were sent an $800 fee that included $700 for the carpet when he straight up told us it would be cheap and wouldn’t cost much for the carpet near the door ! We called and spoke with Betty Veintemilla and Steve and they were both adamant that the carpet couldn’t be saved but would NOT address why we were told that we wouldn’t have to spend much money on the carpet during the move out inspection and then charge us $700 after we move out. It seemed underhanded to us but not surprising considering how little care they have for their residents and only care about money. We have stayed their for 2 1/2 years and are bothered by how we have been treated these last couple of months. This is a nice complex but please keep in mind that you will be treated very nicely when you first move in and then once you put in your notice(and they can’t get your money anymore) they will try and way they can to get your money.
