First time living in an apartment complex and was a little worried about having someone doing maintenance for us. Stacey has been wonderful taking care of any issue we have in a very timely manner.

Many of these reviews are lies. Please come to the community so you can see for yourself before signing a contract. This community is not worth what we pay and we and many in the community want justice. I have a documentary I am creating to fight back against these communities that will be released promptly. Westminster will take your money, demand it at that. $30,000 a year to live in this area to deal with what they have to offer.
The gates don't work, here has a multi species roach problem. Management will hang up on you when you get too excited about the money you pay to live here. I have been hung up on twice after asking me to voice my complaints.
They don't want to hear it. They just want their paper yo. Because mess with their money nah cuz, don't do that, but y'all better have mine, right?

This will be my second review, as I had to re-sign and re-lease a new rental. I was so helpful as to write a nice, fresh review. This is a follow-up to my last one. Please see Gondi Joahbi's review.
As I moved into my new place here, across from my previous building/apt, the place was again dirty upon move-in. Yes, it was last-minute, but the filth and unfinished work that needed to be done were tolerable until we discovered a very serious bug problem. As a frequent traveler, I do understand that bugs can get into new areas and sneak into a box or two. However, this was not the case. After discovering multiple different species of roaches, I knew there was an infestation. The entire neighborhood has an infestation. Inside and outside of the buildings. Neighbors are aware, and some tolerate it. Not I!
We pay premium prices here, and I was moved into a roach-infested apartment, and it took them over 40 days to attend to, to try to mitigate the situation.
The infestation is still ongoing. This is my third month living here under these conditions, and I have nowhere to go. My daughter and I are always wondering if a roach is going to crawl on us.
This does not include us never feeling safe in a gated and fenced-in community because the fence common areas is compromised for people to get in and infiltrate our community. Not to mention that the gate to enter works 10% of the time. Leaving at least one gate open to enter and leave at ease.
There is no one above management to contact concerning these issues and many others besides the regional manager, who refuses to talk to me for the sake of not being recorded. I have been made promises and assurances by word of mouth and was let down. I am only asking to record so someone can be held accountable.
This neighborhood has many, many problems that need to be addressed, but they just don't care. Anyone who disagrees, please let's meet at the clubhouse and have this discussion.
Before you even dare considering this community, know that they hide behind their policies and lawyers and will not give you the time of day, only asking you for their money, yet half of their amenities are absent, unavailable, and just outright misleading.

This apartment complex is the worst place to live in Williamsburg. The lady who works in the office most days is extremely rude and unhelpful. We were double charged 3 months in a row for utilities and promised a credit back each time I called, but each time the black woman in the office who is very rude and not helpful in the least says "oh it'll come through next month" pushing back the credit date each time. The maintenance team is also very rude. I work night shift occasionally and have had many personal conversations with the CHIEF ENGINEER about how I work night shift and would appreciate it if he didn't come to my door at 8 am banging on the door and yelling upon entering. There is also a $300 gate fee included in the rent that they don't tell you about unless you ask and the gate is always broken. I've been living here 6 months and 5 of those months the gate has been broken so I'm confused what the gate fee is for. I have had road ragers able to follow me into the complex because the gates don't close. They'll pull you in with a pretty pool and "resident nights" but all the company cares about is money. It's owned and operated by westminster so any apartment complexs by them will also be bad. James on the Merrimac is another one owned by them and an absolute no when it comes to living there

We have been at Spotswood Commons for a year and are delighted with our apartment and surroundings. The office and maintenance folks are responsive to our needs. The apartment is perfect for us. The Development is well managed and we recommend Spotswood repeatedly to our friends. No problem is too small to get a quick response. Even on an extremely busy day like movie night or pumpkin decorating, the maintenance department took the time to bring over an aerator for our faucet. The efficiency, cooperation, and friendliness of the Spotswood staff is spectacular.
