DO NOT USE!!! Is it possible to leave zero stars? This review is LONG overdue, but WELL deserved! While under RLM's management, several years ago a family moved into my house, immediately stopped paying rent, squatted in my house for months, and wrecked my property. This family paid the first month's rent and security deposit, and that was it. I had to hire an attorney at my expense (not cheap) to have these people evicted. This process takes months, and of course the bank is still charging monthly mortgage even if the tenants aren't paying rent. My lawyer finally got a court order and it took law enforcement to come evict these people. As a parting gift they had left me with several thousand dollars of intentional damage. Paint thrown on many walls, dog excrement everywhere, holes punched through drywall, etc... THIS HOUSE WAS ONLY A FEW YEARS OLD!!! None of this was covered by the landlord-tenant policy. The insurance people said vandalism is defined as a one-time event, not an ongoing campaign of destruction like what happened to me. The idea being that a responsible management company would put a stop to such destruction. It was discovered that this family had been evicted from their last residence as well.. how did this not come up in a background check? Can we say vet potential tenants better next time RLM? All of these debts factored greatly into being forced to file bankruptcy, and of course I listed RLM as a creditor. After the case was closed, RLM refused to release the security deposit to me, stating they would apply it to my balance (which had been discharged in Bankruptcy court and legally no longer existed). They then had the nerve to threaten to sue ME for what they called "a still owed balance."
This is what happens when the going gets tough. I recommend passing on RLM. DO NOT USE!!!

This company is deceitful and takes advantage of their tenants. They withheld $1300 of my security deposit after charging me double to replace their $500 oven that has never been maintained. They charged $95 to replace lightbulbs despite the fact that there were no lightbulbs needing replacement upon move out. There are photos and video proof of the condition, however I have no recourse on my deposit.

I just wanted to give my appreciation for all the hard work from Carolina in Accounts Receivables, as well as other staff at RLM. The past few months, we had unexpected money issues arise, and Carolina has done everything in her power to help us with everything she can (including her caring responses to my totally embarrassing emotional emails about the situation I was in lol). The entire team at RLM has been amazing from the process of moving in, to maintenance issues, to of course communication with AR regarding our rent and move out. We moved here from the Dallas area to a house in Conroe managed by RLM, we weren’t able to tour the house and just hoped everything went well during our move-in date. The application process was easy, fast and the team made it such an easy transition for us and the house was luckily in great shape. Of course there were maintenance issues as you’re going to have with any house, and the RLM office did a great job with communicating with us and getting repairs scheduled as soon as possible. I’m sorry that I don’t know the names of everyone that we have talked to, but they have all done a fantastic job. Also, I would like to mention that I used to be an assistant manager in the apartment industry so I used to handle rent payments and eviction processes, and I never ever thought that an eviction process would almost happen to me. In that industry I’ve come across places that just didn’t care about you at all. It’s a hard job sometimes and I had been told by one of my bosses that “you have to put your feelings aside and you can’t have a heart for people in this business.” RLM isn’t like that. It was such a breath of fresh air that Carolina actually cared, just like I had cared about my tenants going through hardship and being scared of losing a roof over their heads. Of course, legally there’s only so much they can do, but because of her help, we were able to get caught up and in good standing. I truly appreciate everyone on that team that has helped me in some way.

Terrible property management company. Never rent a property thru them. They will steal and lie to your face to try to keep a security deposit. When asked for proof of repairs, they didn't provide any. Shady company. Eventually, I got all my money back after my attorney sent a demand letter. Avoid at all cost.
