The staff are friendly, professional, and quick to help with anything you need. The community is quiet and welcoming, and everything from parking to amenities is convenient and well cared for. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to call home.

- JMJohn MyaardSep 4, 20251.0I have an email chain going back to August 21st and it is now September 4th and I am still unable to cancel my lease at Hawthorne house. I was charged for the entire month of September, they did not prorate rent for the 4 days of September I was there. The conditions there are fair and the price was good, but they will increase your rent 8% every year until you're forced out. The neighbors smoke a lot of weed and there used to be copious amount of dog poop everywhere but now it's less. Management keeps saying they will DNA test the dogs and fine the owners and with how much I paid in rent I'm surprised they haven't done so already. They are not transparent with how you are billed for water, reach out to me and I'll provide receipts because my water bill was higher than my electric bill every month I lived there by sometimes double and almost triple. Be very deliberate about documents and be sure to get a confirmation from the landlord in writing. When I renewed my renters insurance I did not know they hadn't received my new proof of insurance until they started charging me $50/day. They have my phone number, at no point did they reach out for clarification. I tried to cancel my lease and they refused to process it, no one will do a walkthrough of the apartment with me and no one will accept the keys. The movers already came and went, and today (09/04/25) the utilities will be turned off. Check your door jams, while I personally never saw a live roach, I saw plenty prepared for my arrival in various stages of being painted over in the door jams.
