Our water has gone out again, this time with no warning: Construction also banging loud and shaking room late at night.

Three months ago, I was accepted to my dream program and had only three weeks to move from South Carolina to Knoxville. With the short amount of time and no knowledge of the area, The staff here were extremely helpful in my moving process (Especially Brandon and Latrel) while I was in the process of leaving South Carolina. While living here, I have experienced a couple of hiccups, but staff were always quick to fix problem and find answers to every question I’ve had.

From the moment I moved in, the staff have been nothing but helpful and kind. When they gave me the keys to my place they also gave me so much information regarding the complex which was helpful. Moving from a different complex in the fort, I can say this is the best apartment staff in the whole area !! Everyone goes above and beyond while also being so friendly!!

NOT WORTH IT!!!!! Living at the Commons was overall not worth the cost. Rent is already high, and on top of that, utilities for a four-bedroom apartment came out to around $150–170 per person each month, which is excessive compared to what’s provided. Maintenance was extremely slow and frustrating to deal with! We went an entire month without air conditioning, which was unbearable, and I personally had no electricity in my room for five days. When I called, I was told to just “use a candle” in the meantime!
Emergency maintenance was also unreliable. There were several instances of toilet flooding, and despite multiple calls, no one showed up; we had to reach out to friends for help. At move-out, I even hired a professional cleaning service, and the apartment was left spotless, cleaner than when I moved in, but I was still charged $150 for cleaning.
To make matters worse, I had autopay set up and wasn’t notified about this extra charge. Two months later, my co-signer was contacted by a collection agency about it, which was incredibly stressful and unnecessary.
The only positive I can mention is that the staff were always friendly and helpful. Even after I moved out, they still answered my questions and did their best to assist. Unfortunately, that alone does not make up for the overall poor experience.
