  The outdoor of the apartment’s not the cleanest, the ACs are old/loud, construction noises are almost incessant. The washers and dryers aren’t great either and because of the lights outside, your room is never completely dark. However, the office staff is wonderful and everything you need is usually very close. They’ve made no renovations probably because they’re building a new apartment complex.

  Super disappointed in this apartment complex. I originally signed a 4 month lease, and when I prepared to leave they told me I had to pay for another month because I failed to specify once again 40 days before. Make sure you check out the property before leasing. The bathroom has no exhaust, you have to pay 1.75 per load when doing laundry, the flooring resembles a garage, the management failed to disclose that there's no building-wide wifi, there's this light that's on outside the bedroom that stays on and shines in your face until 12:04 AM every night. Although you're paying for the location, the view from my apartment window was not main street, but an an office building,. Lastly, there's only one elevator in the whole building and its very very slow. And the apartment windows don't open. Lastly, when I first moved in there was very, very loud construction going on that they didn't even disclose. My work schedule permitted only one day off and I couldn't even sleep in on that one day because the construction started at 7 AM and went on until 5 PM. This went on for weeks. I asked the management for a partial refund or compensation of some sort and they declined.

  We relocated to Columbia from Australia in October 2016 and spent our first three months in the US at The Palms. It's a difficult and risky thing moving to a foreign land, but Jackie in our email exchanges and when we lived there was always helpful, friendly and the process was easy. The Palms is a great place to live, the location is divine, close to The Vista, The State House and right on Main St. The other residents are friendly, there is a monthly happy hour and the ambiance is great. On the down side there would be a problem with noise from the gym on the lower levels, we were on level 4 and never heard anything, but choose a time to inspect when a SWEAT class is on. Also we were charged a $500 deposit which they were slow to return. We have since purchased a car and moved out of town to something a little bigger. Notwithstanding the two points mentioned above I would recommend The Palms, we enjoyed out time there.
