I've lived happily in Celio Apartments for almost five years. I remember when we used to call this building the King Towers since it's on King Ave. I believe these apartments are among the cheapest in the West Hills. The building is run very efficiently. If something breaks it's usually fixed with 24 hours. This week the service elevator wasn't working on Saturday but by Sunday it was back up and running.. The building is up pretty high so most apartments have a nice view. The people living here, and I think there are about 220 of us, are of every age, size, color, shape, gender and place of origin that you can image. Yet we all get along well, opening the door for each other, holding the elevator, and doing clothes together in the laundry room. The management is excellent and the maintenace men have very very long experience with this building and can hande anything that comes up. I blew a circuit breaker once and when I called them they told me immediately to look behind the refrigerator for my power box. I would say this is an apartment building that works well for its inhabitants. As for me, I have nothing negative to report about Celio Apartments. It's been a great run. gene
Commerce Properties sucks as much money out of you that they can with next to unhelpful leasing agents. Included mini fridges worse than hotel chains, cabinets that don't open all the way, closets designed by chimps at best. Do not give your money to these people. Wish I hadn't moved here.

Pros: The staff, the service, the location, the view, the price, the tenants, the staff, the staff, the staff. It's a friendly place within walking distance of 4 great grocery stores, a host of restaurants, public transportation, and a vibrant nightlife.
Cons: no screens in windows, no build in AC (but has heat), Laundry room instead of in unit laundry. The first two can be managed in consideration of what you save. The latter matters more to my family because my teens dirty up a fresh set of clothes daily.
We lived here for a year. Management is actively unhelpful but the apartments themselves are decent (although the walls are quite thin). If this is what you can afford you could do a lot worse.

I've lived here for 2.5 years and the best I can say is that it's ok. It was nice when I moved in, but has noticeably gone downhill. It needs a little love and care to get it back on track.
Good: Great location, very walkable, close to bus and max lines. They host community building events once per month or so. It's historically been quiet, though recently a neighbor moved across the hall from me with a dog that barks all the time. But that's a new problem, so we'll say it's quiet.
OK: Sort of affordable, though I struggle to pay rent on a 1-bedroom apartment with a 70K salary. But it's cheaper than other apartments in the area. There are a few amenities: a small workout room, community room, and laundry room. It's fewer amenities than new buildings with comparable rent. Elevators break down somewhat frequently, but are usually fixed within a day. As a woman living alone, I feel pretty safe, but there are a few male neighbors that give me bad vibes and as you'll read below, people break in (once I came home at 2am to find a houseless person milling about in the lobby). I've never felt the need to call the police or anything for safety issues.
Bad: As others have noted, people break into the building and garage, mostly to dig through the trash. Cars parked on the street get broken into frequently. It's also quite dirty inside, as others have noted, and it's not a matter of standards, as the manager says in their response to other reviews. The dog area behind the building is DISGUSTING beyond belief. Tenants are really inconsiderate when it comes to cleaning up after their pets, which is disappointing. I complained about it once and the staff claimed that they pick up the poop every day, but that's a blatant lie. The staff are dishonest and/or just don't know what's going on. Front desk staff are generally unhelpful and/or provide bad information, so I don't bother trying to ask them for help anymore. I have felt that they dismiss me because I'm a woman, which is super frustrating. It used to be alot better. When I moved in the place was spotless and the staff were great, but things have changed alot since then.
