  I had a mortgage through Wells Fargo. I called them to modify my mortgage and was transferred to another rep to setup modified lease. It turned out to be an imposter. I was contacted by 20/20 about the scam that actually was on an episode on the show. After this aired, Wells Fargo still didn't acknowledge this and went through with the foreclosure. I never invested in real estate after the experience and live in an apartment today.

  Buyer Beware. Joe DeVito is as corrupt as they come. He doesn't put anything in writing and makes promises that never come. He lies about what he is doing. An example is - he told me he was on his way to a meeting to discuss my mortgage. I called him 5 hours later to see what happened in the meeting. He said "oh - we didn't have that meeting yet." Just another stall tactic to ensure by the time I realized he wasn't going to deliver on any of his promises it would be too late to start over with another company. I have never encountered a more dishonest and truly disappointing person. I blame myself for believing that nobody could be that corrupt. I stand corrected. I hope others see this and use literally any service besides Wells Fargo. He already has a negative review that is almost exactly like what he did to me which means this is his way of conducting business. I have never called a human being a liar directly to their face. I did that with him. He didn't even deny it. I thought maybe it was just him so I spoke to several people - from the branch manager to the complaint department at corporate, trying to find a way to salvage this business relationship but everyone was more worried about covering his unethical actions than truly helping me. I did really appreciate the letter that Wells took the time to overnight to me to let me know they can't be held responsible for any verbal discussions. It is interesting because every time I call them the calls are recorded but the calls with our agent don't seem to be. It would stand to reason that those are the calls that are really needed to be monitored, given these people are responsible for life-altering contracts for potential homeowners. I have now been arguing with them (for months) to get mail from this person to stop being delivered to me. Every time I see his name I am re-enraged. Update: after talking to wells again i stand by my review. they did nothing about the deceitful practices and almost 6 months later still refuse to remove him as my agent. I get mail from him often. After 3 additional calls I did get the 'gift card' they promised - it is a promotion card so very limited and expires but hey at least it was something.

  A person by the name of John Schmitz from Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, 532 Broadhollow Road, Melville, NY 11747 is spamming me. I didn't sign up for his spam mail and unsubscribe messages I send are ignored; the Wells Fargo Home Mortgage spam email just keeps on coming and coming and coming, week after week after week after week. Listen up Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Spammer: I will NEVER do business with a company who sends me unsolicited commercial email. N E V E R. E V E R. It's too late for excuses and half-hearted remedies. Wells Fargo sends me spam I never signed up for; that's bad karma Shannon.

  Do not use Wells Fargo, especially Christopher Figueroa. Promised they could close a deal in 30 days and are now asking for a 2 week extension. My client is at risk and can potentially lose her $10,000 escrow deposit. Christopher is also very rude and unprofessional and does not like to return emails or phone calls. You constantly have to reach out to get to get a response and he does so with an attitude. Not sure why anyone would want to do business with him or his company. RUN AWAY if you see a preapproval with his name on it.
