I would not recommend living in this apartment complex. Many essential elements of the unit and the property are in poor condition. The stairs feel unstable, as if they could break at any moment. Inside the unit, several essential appliances constantly fail. The washing machine makes extremely loud noises and shakes as if it might break at any time, and although I have reported this multiple times, nothing has been resolved. The garbage disposal frequently stops working despite very limited use, and the plumbing in the bathrooms, showers, and kitchen is poorly installed.
The thermostat is also unreliable, changing temperatures on its own, often switching between cold and warm without notice—even during summer. The maintenance staff has been unprofessional and unfriendly in my experience. They show up whenever they want, without respecting the time frames promised by the office. Often, by the time they arrive, I need to leave home to work, and they either do nothing or leave the issue unresolved. Then I have to wait again for another day I am available, only to experience the same result.
Safety is also a major concern here. One time, we witnessed a couple engaging in inappropriate intimate acts around the property while recording themselves. By the time we realized what was happening, they were already leaving, and it was too late to contact the authorities. Nobody intervened and management took no responsibility. Additionally, despite being prohibited in the contract, many residents smoke marijuana and the smell easily enters through windows, doors, and AC vents, which is extremely unpleasant and disruptive. Access control is poorly handled as well. During summer, the pool area is often left unlocked, allowing anyone from outside to enter freely, which creates uncomfortable situations. Even after reporting this multiple times, the office’s only response has been along the lines of “next time call the police, people who move out keep the amenity keys and still come in—plus, we live in ABQ, you know what that means,” which leaves you with a terrible sense of insecurity and lack of professionalism.
If you work remotely and require a quiet environment, this is not the place for you. The noise level is excessive: loud lawn maintenance, leaf blowers, and garbage trucks twice a week early in the morning create constant disruption, and the entire building vibrates when these trucks arrive.
Management also refuses to uphold their end of the contract agreement, allowing people who repeatedly break the rules to continue without any consequences. If you are expecting a baby, or have a newborn, this environment is especially unsuitable due to the noise, the lack of control, and the instability. Considering the price, the quality of living does not match the cost. Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience.
