I live here & building maintenance is severely neglected & disgusting. Elevators are disgusting, management won’t pay what’s required for weekly building maintenance, beware! .

Hi,
I rented an apartment 5209 from Nov 16th 2020 for a 15 months lease period for $2200/month rent and $2200 deposit . I was paying rent continuously without any delay with great difficulty even during difficult period of covid. First of all they never told me during the initial lease that there is a water bill separate which in fact I have never seen in NJ. And I was auto registered in a utility company who started sending water bills for like $80 approx. /month which is ridiculously high for a single person living.
I sent them by end of Feb 2020 30 days notice to vacate and paid rent till end of March. On there lease terms there are no fixed terms of lease termination. They started demanding me $9,000 for lease termination and i have asked them that I literally can't pay and I was unfortunately going through lot of tough issue like we were going through divorce and loss of income.
Then the management kept on threatening me for end of lease and when I requested that please take a month and half including the deposit they kept on threating me to take me to court and rejected my offer.
I have vacated and cleaned the apartment like new without even small issue also and handed over the keys on March 21st so that they can put it for rent ASAP.
I was exchanging emails with the manager Linda continuously and kept requesting her to accept $3300 as termination fee. But they threated me to take me to court. So i had to sign re-renting clause. I was in lot of financial stress and still I agreed just to see as there was lots of demand for apartments in our area.
I Signed for a re-rent from April to keep paying the rent until it is re-rented. I asked the office manager Linda and requested her I can't afford to pay any more rent and then finally she agreed to close the termination @ $3300.
The fact is they didn't tell me at all as I was still renting the apartment and they have already received multiple request for renting the apartment with applications also submitted.
And when I asked them to close the lease at $3300 they didn't agree in March and threatened me to take me to court. Now they agreed on April 12th as it was already rented and I have paid them $1100 plus $2200 to close the termination.
My claim is the Manager and the management has cheated me completely as I was suppose to pay rent only till it is re-rented but they didn't reveal that and took more money from me to close the lease termination.
I want to file a compliant and I need $2200 back as I am only responsible for partial month April rent which is $1100. As the apartment is rented again and they didn't revel it and cheated me.
Also there gym is really bad and because of the covid club house is closed and also pool and other facilities are closed. I rented the apartment facing the dumpster and for 3 months couldn't sleep after 6am as they made so much of noise.
But still they never gave discount to renters with no facilities

My husband and I are retired and decided to sell our four bedroom house and move to an apartment. I spent two months searching apartments and was upset because I couldn't find anything that would feel like "home". Then I found Barclay Chase of Marlton before it was built. We looked at floor plans and reserved a two bdrm. 2.5 bath unit with a big loft. We moved in in July! It is gorgeous! Truly like resort living. The staff here is amazing, always kind and helpful. Linda is wonderful at assisting you in your decision as to what unit suits your needs. The clubhouse is gorgeous as is the pool... with barbecues and fire pits! ... a workout room and yoga room. I love being centrally located to everything. The best decision we have ever made. Love, love, love it!!!!
