I don’t know. There are roaches a plenty and the previous review on here where they deny that is so messy of them. I’m not sure they even cleaned my apartment when I showed up to move in but I had no other options. They have not been helpful or willing to help in some situations. They are timely when you need things fixed but they don’t communicate well. A maintenance man just showed up without any warning, no knock and opened my place while I was there and he had a bad attitude about my being startled. As a single woman, that’s scary. They also need access to your apartment far more than I’ve experienced at other properties. I prefer to not have my dog caged up but it has happened often since living here and I find that frustrating. The model units look great but my apartment has many flaws some of which have the typical quick fix low quality work like painting over it makes it somehow not exist? Just know that before moving in. For what you pay, the quality is questionable.

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Alden Place was so frustrating that I feel obligated to warn others. Three months after moving out, I suddenly received a notice from debt collectors claiming I owed money — even though I never got a single email or notice from Alden Place about any balance. After spending 30 minutes on the phone, I learned it was for my last month’s bills. The receipt they finally sent clearly showed they charged the wrong amount, and when I pointed this out, the staff member just said “okay.” No apology, no explanation. That lack of care sums up my whole experience living there. Management threw away my vacuum cleaner without notice — it was clearly personal property, left in an open space, not blocking anything. No warning, no courtesy. Just gone. Meanwhile, other residents routinely left items outside their doors with no issue. Add to that pest problems and slow maintenance — I had baby cockroaches falling on me while showering — and I often had to document and follow up repeatedly to get anything fixed. I even bought my own door stoppers because the seals were never properly repaired. And I already know how management will respond: “Everything was within the scope of the lease.” Fine. But dear reader: do you really want to live somewhere that hides behind the lease instead of showing basic respect or accountability? Especially in North Carolina, where tenant rights are minimal, this kind of attitude matters. Between the pests, unresponsive management, property being thrown away, billing errors, and debt collectors months later, this was easily the most frustrating rental experience I’ve ever had. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere. Especially if you are a law student who needs your home life to be as stress-free as possible. I have been moved out for 3 months and wanted to leave this chapter behind me, but this recent situation prompted me to urgently share my perspective. See photos below. By the way, the photos of the door holes were turned down for being fixed/getting additional sealing until I advocated for myself.

I was in search of a one bedroom apt and the staff showed me a two bedroom. If there wasnt an available one to be toured that should have been stated when I spoke to staff the morning of prior to me making the commute. I also felt like the tour itself was a bit rushed. The person mentioned a virtual tour for a one bedroom however nothing is like being in the space and seeing it physically with your own eyes. I will also say there are to many restrictions with guests and things that are mandatory that may deter me. I was also informed that a few of the management staff lives onsite as well. The grounds however are beautiful, driving through the community I was in amazement. Prior to visiting I did read other reviews and its pretty accurate what each one is saying for the most part

There’s no need to visit in person if you want to see the available units! Don’t waste your time! I drove from Maryland to view a 1 bedroom but this place does not allow you to view the available apartments. They have a model (based on other reviews it may only have been a 2 bedroom model) and virtual tour. If I wanted to see the virtual tour I would so that myself. There seems to be less of a need for the leasing team if they don’t abide by best practices (showing available units) this seems like a very big red flag as the model unit is never going to the the exact same as what’s available. The leasing agent Evan said he would follow up with an email but he did not as of me writing this review. This would have FAILED a secret shopping audit. Sucks bc I need to move asap and the location and price is great but why not let prospects see EXACTLY what they are getting? I’m sure the response to this review will be generic and not followed with any change or actual consideration. Do better.
