- BLBon LMay 2, 20251.0Beware of all of the positive reviews. Crossgates and Avalon periodically run "special giveaways" where residents who post a positive review on Google are entered into a drawing for prizes. The most recent "special giveaway" ran from January-March 13, 2025. Additionally, around this time they offered a raffle for a $200 Visa gift card if you clicked on their link to vote for them for "Best in Starkville" which they did NOT win. If you look at the majority of the reviews they are from this time period. I once read a stellar review that was written by the spouse of a Crossgates employee (they did not live at Crossgates) and the employee even responded by thanking them for their positive review! I wish at this point I had something positive of my own to say about Crossgates.
