BEWARE OF THIS COMPLEX!!! I have rented various apartments in multiple states over 10+ years and had zero issues until I lived at Delmar Loop Apartments. What I thought would be another pleasant living experience while returning to my hometown quickly turned into a nightmare after the first few months of settling in. The apartment was not properly cleaned prior to moving in and repairs to paint on the walls still needed to be completed. It took various submissions to have any maintenance ticket properly worked since management would close the ticket without resolving the issue. My living room AC unit constantly leaked causing damage to my furniture and rug. Maintenance’s solution was to let the unit continue to leak until it was sagging into my living room due to the extensive water damage. I should have noticed the writing on the wall when the front office personnel quit without notice and they didn’t even bother to replace her. The elevators were constantly out of service during my 1.5 years there and would be fixed after weeks only to go out of service again a couple days later. One particularly bad experience was a 2 week period when both elevators stopped working, effectively stranding tenants within the building and locking them out of the premise if they decided to use the staircases since the doors locked once you entered the stairwell. The complex’s solution was to leave all doors in the stairwell propped open so anyone could enter the premises. This led to multiple accounts of people living in the stairwells, gaining access to and looting the storage units in the basement, and one instance where one of my guests was approached to buy drugs by someone in the stairwell. During this 2 week period, the stairwell was also filled with copious amounts of trash and human waste that management didn’t bother to clean up. Several months later when moving out, the freight elevator still was not fixed. The boiling point that led to my early move out was how the management decided to handle the May 16th tornado. Even though there was visible exterior damage, a compromised roof, extensive water damage leading all the way down to the ground floor and prolonged periods without power, management decided that having snacks and water bottles in the office was an adequate solution. No attempt to temporarily rehome tenants was made. Instead, they tried to incorrectly push the responsibility to renters insurance, which only covers personal property damage within the unit! Once construction crews started their clean up, they began doing mold remediation without any notice or warning to tenants. This involved spraying moldicide in and near units where people were living and in common areas that had heavy foot traffic. The icing on the cake was when management thought it was acceptable for me to live in my unit with a 15’ length of my exterior wall ripped off for 3 months. I could continue writing my horrible experience with this complex but it would turn into a novel. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Save yourself the headache and rent elsewhere.

Ms. Dianielle was very helpful, polite and sweet. While on the apartment tour, I was very unsure of which square footage would be just right for me. However after being given a tour by Ms. Dianielle, I was feeling a lot better with choosing the Delmar Loop Apartments as my future home!!!
