Allison, the manager, could definitely work on her customer service skills. It’s very unfortunate that residents don’t feel comfortable speaking with her especially when you’ve been displaced due to the tornado. In order to be a manager or anyone in property management, you must provide good customer service, no matter what personal issues you may be experiencing. I hope that upper management take the reviews in regards to customer service seriously. Your home is your peace and it’s unfortunate that you’re uncomfortable speaking to her regarding any issues that you may have with your apartment home.

My review below focuses on my experiences with The Embassy apartments in St. Louis in the aftermath of an E3 tornado in May 2025. Aside from this specific incident I would not recommend renting from URM; in my two years of tenancy, they have charged tenants more money while neglecting amenities and maintenance, some to the point of disrepair. The tornado did not help. URM serves only its own interests at the expense of its tenants, the buildings they manage, and vendors they contract. If you are a potential tenant: stay away, this is not your best option. Thank you for reading. On May 16th The Embassy apartment building was directly hit by a tornado. In the aftermath, the city of St. Louis assessed the building and publicly cited multiple safety issues including “broken windows” and “falling hazards” among others. To date, these two specific issues have not been remediated. Additionally, many units did not have air conditioning for over a month after the tornado – a time in which St. Louis experienced summer heat waves with temperatures in the 80s and 90s. For weeks, the building’s entryway did not lock and the parking lot gate was inoperable, making the building and its tenants entirely unsecure. The property management group, Unified Residential Management, has made repeated claims that the building was inspected and that all currently inhabited units are safe, however they’re unwilling or unable to provide documentation of inspection and its results, despite multiple requests. Contradicting Unified Residential Management’s position that all inhabited units are safe, I have seen documentation from FEMA declaring two units to be uninhabitable given their current states; these units are deemed safe by Unified Residential Management and have tenants living in them. Despite these unsafe conditions, Unified Residential Management has demanded full rent from all tenants since the tornado and is applying financial penalties – at least one month’s rent and often two month’s rent – for tenants who wish to break their leases early as a result of the tornado damage and state of the building. Unified Residential Management's demands and treatment of tenants, considering the circumstances, are unneighborly and unethical. Whatever their reasons or constraints may be, URM is neglecting its tenants, ignoring its responsibilities, and abusing its authority. They should apologize and make their tenants whole immediately.

I’ve lived at this property for five years, and while there have been a few changes in management over time, I have no complaints. Apartment living can be hit or miss, but in my experience, both the maintenance and office staff have consistently done their best to accommodate residents’ needs. I can at least speak confidently for myself in saying that I’ve felt supported throughout my time here. Thank you, Ifet and Allison, for your continued dedication and diligence — it’s truly appreciated.

Wouldn’t advise moving into any of these apartments outside of necessity. There is such a disconnect between the maintenance and the front offices that things are not proactively communicated, and reported issues aren’t solved without frequent reminders and intervention. Even now, I put in a service request for leakage, and they tore out a portion of my ceiling. No mention of it happening, nor any mention of why or when it will be repaired. But they made sure to mark the ticket as completed. edit: they fixed the ceiling the next day lol, for anyone else seeing this I suppose this is a way to get your services completed.
