At Cityscape, comfort meets classic design in the heart of St. Louis Park. Each apartment is outfitted with sleek finishes, and spacious layouts perfect for modern living. With dedicated parking, easy access to local shops and eateries, and only a short drive from downtown Minneapolis, you’re never far from what matters.
The management that runs Cityscape is both incompetent and negligent. Stick with me for this as it could make you think twice about picking the cheaper apartment option.
On multiple occasions I have asked that if maintenance, room tours, or inspections are present in my apartment, that the management person in charge of said visit shut the doors to rooms that are closed upon arrival. Never has this been done. I am moving out, and there is naturally a tour of my unit while I am gone. Instead of shutting the doors like I have asked, they simply claimed they "thought they had". My cats then got into some allergy medicine and knocked over plants. The response from management? "Sorry that happened, we will try better again in the future". My cats are beyond sick and if they had gotten into any other types of medicine, they could have died. What would you do if you came home to your pets laying dead on the floor because someone couldn't do the smallest part of their job? Their response you might ask? "We will make sure to close the doors in the future". At what point are empty promises just excuses for being grossly negligent? Does being incompetent mean that you are free from the mistakes you made? If you are bad at your job, you get reprimanded. If you continue to be bad at your job, you get relieved of your duties. But if you are a Cityscape employee, you can expect to keep your job and continue to keep making stupid mistakes.
If the above concerns you, this is just the start of your experience if you choose to live here. Water being out because the building is old and in need of constant pipe replacement? You may get a 1-2 day notice. No hot water because the boiler needs to be replaced and fixed constantly? Expect it. Amenities such as outdoor grills being usable? Maybe count on just 2 of the burners ever working. Being overcharged on first months rent and not being allowed to move into your apartment because someone can't do simple math, even though you can clearly show that it is a simple mistake? You can bet your bottom dollar they will find any and every opportunity to nickel and dime you for their mistakes.
I thought a cheaper apartment was the way to go. I thought the location was nice. And there are some good parts of this place. But the people who run it will somehow make your life worse in ways that you can't imagine. Take it from me, a guy who has been cleaning up cat vomit and diarrhea for 2 hours and has yet to clean the 4 broken plants and the soil that is just about everywhere.
Crystalyn & Kyle (Cityscape management currently), I hope you read this and consider a career change or at least consider putting forth the tiniest bit of effort into your jobs. I get this is a business to you, but for the residents, this is a place we live.

We just moved in about a month ago and love it here so far! Management is really helpful, and there are great amenities. This is an older building but it’s very well maintained. It’s an amazing apartment for a good price and awesome location.

Dont move in here if you expect company. They will tow your car in a moments notice, when visiting friends/family and make you pay for it. Idiots.
