One star for chronic lack of follow-up from management.
In my four years here, the quality of management has declined sharply. This summer, my unit was without AC for nine days making the apartment extremely uncomfortable given how hot the units get. After asking about a potential prorated rent credit, it wasn’t until a month later and multiple reminder emails, that I received a response promising a reply “within a few days.” Over the next three months, I’ve sent repeated emails, made calls, and visited the front office, yet still haven’t received any response or resolution from management.
In the meantime, several boards have fallen from the recessed window areas in my apartment, damaging my lights. My request for a potential reimbursement for my lights has also remained unanswered.
Finally, I was double charged on my monthly parking bill for multiple months which required repeated outreach to fix.
Communication and accountability from the management office have become incredibly disappointing. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend moving here.

Downtown Living with A View and Good Prices
I've been living in Galtier Towers since December 2024.
Apartment and Building: The building has everything you need. The office staff is very friendly and informative, and I can always stop by and say hello to them. The maintenance staff will fix things within a reasonable time if concerns are brought up. There are many different unit layouts to choose (I believe 70!), depending on your needs and have up-to-day appliances. There is the SkyRec facility, which includes in an indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub, two indoor basketball courts, indoor pickleball court, and indoor running track. There are two small gyms - one in each tower. Community laundry is a thing, but that's because it would take a lot of construction and replumbing to put in in-unit washer and dryers in each apartment. The community laundry room is kept clean, is safe, and there are vending machines to buy snacks or soda. The floors, ceilings, and exterior walls are concrete which makes noise insulation very good compared to those paper-thin luxury apartment buildings that are going up these days. The only occasional noise I hear is that of my neighbor's baby, but even then it's faint and very non-disruptive. Galtier does occasionally have discounts with local businesses to encourage business growth in the area and are good stewards of the community. This year, I was able to attend a Pride Night in June, where they had local businesses owned by, or supporting of, LGBT individuals. They truly care about everyone!
Lowertown Area: The Lowertown area itself good with a few restaurant choices, such a Dark Horse, Gambit Brewery, Bulldog, and Lost Fox. Mears Park has free concerts in the summer, and the Farmer's Market is wonderfully two blocks away. The river is a short walk and has access to bicycle and running paths that will take you to nearby parks. If getting around by public transit, it's super convenient with the light rail station 2-3 blocks away and almost every bus going through downtown area going past Galtier or a block away. This is great for getting into the residential areas of St Paul such as Selby and Grand Ave areas, or Summit Hill, where there are more cute restaurants and businesses, and even trekking to the Minneapolis side of things. Union Station with Amtrak is a short walk away. Bigos is a great property management company that recently bought out Cray Plaza, the area between both residential towers, and have plans to add apartments and amenities.
Overall: If you don't need to have the nightclub scene next to you and in-unit washer/dryer is not a priority, I'd recommend Galtier Towers in St. Paul - for the amenities you get with the price, downtown living, and genuine/friendly office staff!
