- EOEibar OrtizOct 28, 20251.0Avoid Renting Here. My experience living at Overlook was extremely disappointing, and I feel compelled to warn others before signing a lease. Unjustified Post-Lease Charges: After moving out, I was told that over $300 would be deducted from my deposit for vague and unreasonable charges such as “mattress replacement.” During my lease, I had also been charged for “curtain replacement” — something I have never encountered in any other rental. The curtains were already worn when I moved in, and normal use should never justify a replacement fee. The mattress provided was of very poor quality; after only a few nights, it caused significant back pain. Despite this, I was billed for a new one at a price that clearly does not reflect its actual low value. To make things worse, management has ignored my repeated emails and has provided no clarification or refund on the deposit, even though it has been almost four months since I moved out. Their lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable and highly unprofessional. Low Build Quality and Noise Issues: The walls are paper thin. I could clearly hear my neighbors’ conversations, phone calls, and even plumbing noises from upstairs late at night. For the price they charge, this level of construction is simply not acceptable. Overall, Overlook’s management has shown poor professionalism and disregard for residents concerns. Between the lack of transparency, unjustified fees, and poor living conditions, I strongly advise anyone considering this place to look elsewhere.
