We were planning to live at the Madison at Racine until some unforeseen circumstances and had to cancel our lease prior to our move-in day. Melissa, Ishmaiel, and the rest of the building and property management staff couldn’t have been more helpful or professional in getting our deposit back in a timely manner. You can tell that they really care about their potential and current residents here.

We stayed at the guest suite and Melissa helped us. 100/10 Melissa was the epitome of customer service, even checked to make sure our bed was properly fluffed before we checked in. Melissa makes this residential building worth it all, and she does it all with a smile. Thank god for Mel.

This was a difficult review to write because we love our apartment. The staff and management are wonderful. So why three stars? First, when our lease renewed in February, we did not negotiate a lower increase in rent, a big mistake since apartments in West Loop DURING PEAK MOVING SEASON were priced lower (in some cases significantly lower) than what we're now paying. In essence, we feel ripped off. Second, the "improvements" to the dog run were the absolute minimum--i.e., replacing the worn-out turf and removing the dead shrubs. One of the gate locks broke within two weeks of installation and has not been replaced. Dog owners constantly allow their pets to urinate in the courtyard where tenants grill and gather with their guests. Third, the city has eliminated almost all free street parking in West Loop. Because my spouse and I must periodically park a second car for work, we now have to budget another $350-400/month. Our guests are struggling to find parking options. Taken together, it's simply no longer affordable to live in the Madison at Racine, nor in West Loop. A one-bedroom apartment with one parking space should not be pushing $3100 (or almost $3500 with a periodic second parking space).
