Without a doubt I found Perla to be the most unprofessional property manager I’ve ever encountered. This lady went on maternity leave and the entire building shut down. There was a notice in my mailbox asking me to provide her with a baby shower gift, there was going to be a shower. As if I cared, very unprofessional. No one in the offices, no one to respond to emails but you can count on a email about quiet hours and rent being due. The front desk person quit and she was never replaced. Office Hours were minimized and made impossible for the working class to drop by with questions or concerns. The unofficial unlicensed maintenance man let himself in my apt with no notice as I yelled out I’m in here and tried to act surprised and blamed it on Perla when he walked in to an angry me staring at him . I asked numerous times about storage and never got a response. I asked while Queen Perla was away about storage and was pushed out the office by who I am assuming was her cousin who told me she was on her way to lunch and would put me on the waiting list and never took my name. They don’t let you view the apartments, they send videos. When I moved in there was a woman crying at the elevator because she said she had a sectional and knew it wouldn’t fit. Similar situation to mine. Parking is not included in rent nor is it monitored so expect to have many hiccups. This building is poorly ran and overpriced for the cardboard box sized living spaces and crappy cheap washer and dryers in unit. The cleaning lady is also rude and I believe related to Perla. I watched her ignore a parcel man trying to gain entrance while dramatically sighing out loud. While this building was maybe the quietest building I ever lived in, it was also the biggest rip off. Get rid of the lazy, incompetent, money hungry , corner cutting, nepo crew cause they are all clearly related. Oh yea, I moved in here for a sense of community and not one activity was done. Also I agree with the review below, Perla and her family is the reason I left this year.
This building is situated in a great location. The views from the rooftop are gorgeous. The management team here is excellent! Any issues I had were addressed quickly. The building is older but very well maintained. They do charge $150 for off street parking so be aware of that additional cost.

I hate to have to say this because people have told me how messy the property manager, Perla, can be at this company, but since I had never personally experienced an issue with her, I couldn’t relate—until now. To know that my personal information was disclosed to another tenant is completely unprofessional. The best way to make people aware of how this property management company operates is by leaving this review.
Not only have I dealt with safety and security issues, but so have other tenants. My own car was broken into inside a gated area, which is completely unacceptable. And instead of immediately addressing the matter, Perla gaslit the situation before she actually did anything. That is diabolical and deeply concerning.
This is not an isolated issue:
1. A former employee quit specifically citing that Perla was “messy” and unprofessional.
2. Other tenants have complained about her selective, nasty communication.
3. I personally gave her the benefit of the doubt for months, but this incident proves otherwise.
She has even disclosed to me that certain tenants were evicted for not paying rent—a blatant breach of confidentiality.
As a tenant, I should never have to worry that my private conversations, customers financial information, or security concerns are being treated like gossip fodder. This property manager has repeatedly demonstrated a lack of professionalism, discretion, and accountability.
If you’re wondering why residents leave this complex, look no further than the management. Until these issues are taken seriously and addressed, I cannot in good faith recommend living here.

I lived in this building for 4 years. 2 of those years were in a studio on the 14th floor and 2 were in one of the penthouses on the 15th floor. This building is so mismanaged and neglected that each of those years brought its own problems. In the studio, my apartment ceiling flooded twice. Both times in the same spot: right above my bed. My mattress, bed frame, clothes, and other property were all ruined from a flood that lasted 10 hours. After a week of staying in a hotel purchased with my own money and severe mismanagement and lack of communication from the property manager, they assured me that the issue was fixed. The next year, the ceiling flooded in the exact same spot, right over my bed, again ruining my mattress, bed frame, and other property . Pictures attached.
Once I moved to the penthouse, there were constant pest problems that management would not fix including ants coming in from the poorly sealed floors, and constant appliance issues such as our dishwasher continuously breaking. Our bathroom constantly smelled like sewage because the pipes in the building were old and poorly maintained. Finally, this building pretends to be luxury and tries to charge luxury prices while still being firmly in the hood. The neighborhood is not safe or walkable. While living in the penthouse, a bullet was shot into my front door while I was standing next to it. When I told the building management about the shooting they did nothing about it. They did not even bother to fill in the bullet hole or remove the bullet, which I'm sure is still there now. Pictures attached.
On multiple occasions, the parking lot was robbed and multiple cars were broken into. The building itself including the mail room was often robbed as well. Management was made aware and even witnessed multiple of these events but continued to take no action.
The entire fourth floor at one point was noted to be filled with roaches. I was made aware of this by one of my neighbors. Management did nothing about this.
At one point everyone on the 10th floor had to move out because the entire floor was flooded. It took weeks to fix.
On Christmas day 2023, the heat went out for a week.
An old building like this needs to be well managed. Because it was not, the hallways constantly smelled like sewage, doors and locks did not work, and the gym ceiling was always flooded.
Overall, this building charges exorbitant prices for the location and management quality. Think twice before leasing.
The building is not kept clean. The carpet in the hallways are filthy, with pet hair and debris. The floors in front of the elevator on each resident floor and floors in each elevator are often sticky and dirty. The elevators have been out and not functioning properly and this goes without any notice. I woke up one day and had to walk my dog up and down 9+ flights of stairs after I was dressed in my work clothes, which were then ruined. The hallways smell like weed daily which I can smell inside my unit. They use air fresher for a solution, when you make a complaint in this "smoke free" building.
Overall, the upkeep is poor and the staffs ability to communicate things are terrible. Many safety issues and issues that effect peoples livelihood go unsolved, like the broken gate for the parking lot. The building is beautiful but you will only see that on a "scheduled tour and in a prepared model unit".
