- ODOdile DuchampApr 10, 20251.0Using a pseudonym here as i’ve experienced retaliation and rent increase from my last honest feedback. The chalfonte has a great location. They do try to fix problems within 24 hours. However, there are so many problems with roaches, bed bugs, water leaks and mold. They try to fix the cosmetic in the common areas like repainting common areas but bernstein management has enough money to properly renovate this whole building. If you complain with your real name they will raise your rent. Then they have all these offer for $500-$1000 to refer people to move in. They have more than enough money to have more affordable housing. Also there is no sprinkler system in the building, i’m surprised it hasn’t burned down. the windows should be replaced. Whatever temperature it is outside is the temperature in your apartment. If there is a high pollen count its all in your apartment. There are a few long time residents but the rest are transplants that they’ve fooled into paying way too much for so very little. They also don’t communicate about environmentally damaging chemicals being sprayed in the hallways. Just today I saw a person spraying some sweet smelling toxic chemical with ortho on the front. So as I put my recycling in the trash room I'm tracking whatever toxic poison on my shoes into my apartment. Exposing my pet to it, They should really notify tenants what this chemical is and when it is being released into the hallways and why they are potentially exposing tenants to toxic pest control.

The neighborhood location is wonderful and quiet but also close to nightlife, stores, and rock creek park. The maintaintence staff usually takes care of issues within one day.
