We have been living at The Audubon for 7 months and are really enjoying it! The staff is wonderful, the attention to detail is great, and neighbors are friendly. We particularly like the on site amenities, including the gyms, pool area, and golf simulator. We are in a perfect location to walk to most things "New Haven", and enjoy access to the Farmington Canal Trail, the State Street and Wooster Square neighborhoods restaurant and retail scenes, the campus, and of course the New Haven Green. We highly recommend The Audubon!
We have lived at the Audubon for two years and definitely have seen the goods and bads of living in a larger apartment complex. Of course it’s how the bads are handled that make a huge difference. Last year we transitioned thru a management change that brought with it an overall much better team.. Woafa, the Assistant General Manager, truly rocks in terms of communication (even on her days off), and she works hard to make sure issues are resolved in a timely manner. And a shout out to the responsive maintenance guys, especially Eric and Brian who are always on top of repairs.

I could spend an entire review listing the facilities and luxury amenities at the Audubon - two large gyms (that I use almost every day), pool, dog park, a truly beautiful roof top lounge and entertainment area, pool table and golf simulator, private rooms for studying and for meetings, art room and kid’s play room. Or discussing that the Audubon is located in a quiet and safe area, convenient to Yale, restaurants, Wooster Square and the New Haven Green. The facility is kept to a high standard of cleanliness and is in good repair. Whenever I’ve needed repair work in my apartment, the facilities team has taken care of my issue quickly and to my complete satisfaction.
But the management team and staff are what truly makes living at the Audubon an incredible experience. A special shout out to Woafa Saidi, our leasing manager. I’ve lived at the Audubon for more than five years and Woafa became leasing manager after I had renewed my current lease so my experience with her is as the professional who also manages the day-to-day experience and care of the residents. In summary, Woafa excels at these.
It is not enough to say that she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that we feel at home. Woafa truly cares about helping people and she combines professionalism, competence and responsiveness with empathy and supportiveness.
I had applied for a mortgage in another state and had been approved. The day before closing, the mortgage company underwriter suddenly had last minute questions that I could not answer as I was flying to the closing. Woafa took it upon herself to answer all of the underwriter’s questions and to send the necessary additional documentation to ensure that my mortgage was approved. THAT is the definition of “going above and beyond.”
I highly recommend the Audubon, especially under the leadership of Woafa.

The Audubon, where I’ve lived for a couple of years now, is in the best location in New Haven, hands down — in the center of everything and walking distance to everything, including New Haven Green, downtown restaurants, Yale and the Yale-adjacent East Rock neighborhood. The amenities are second to none in the entire area. The one previous problem, not great management, has been totally solved now that another management company, Spinnaker, has taken over. Spinnaker actually owns the property and it really cares. Woafa and Dan are terrific. I’m super happy to live here and I swear they didn’t pay me for this rave!

You’ll likely have a nice time living here but as soon as it’s time to move out get ready for incompetence.
1.) Prior to move out you need to provide 60 days notice. This is pretty standard. I didn’t wait until exactly 60 days, I gave my notice 70 days before move out. What’s not standard is they notified me after this that my lease would now end 7/21 (?!?!?), because that was 60 days from when I gave notice. I never signed a lease that had the end date as 7/21 so I don’t know how they decided that was okay. Further, they never actually updated anything in their system so I was charged full rent for that month. (I was issued a refund check after bringing this to their attention). There was a lot of back and forth due to other issues that came up because of the shifting of my move out date without me ever agreeing to it.
2.) It is now Wednesday, December 24th, I moved out in July, and I get an email that there is an outstanding balance due on my account of $45.26 for “final utility and processing fees”, and that this balance needs to be paid by the end of the week to avoid it being sent to collections… This is my FIRST notice of an outstanding balance, and this notice was issued on a Wednesday for payment due by Friday, and it’s CHRISTMAS EVE. I’m sorry but whattttt are y’all on over there. Of course I no longer have access to their online portal to pay this balance because I moved out FIVE MONTHS AGO, and they are unable to process payments over the phone, so I need to mail them a physical check… I’ve asked for an extension which they said they’ve granted a small extension (but didn’t say what the extension was).
My experience is management is a bit of a mess and their mistakes get pushed off onto the tenants. To tell a person on Christmas Eve that they need to mail a check by the end of the week to avoid collections is so ridiculous I’d be laughing if I wasn’t so annoyed.
