I had a very disappointing experience with the management. After moving out in September 2025 and handing over the apartment in proper condition, my security deposit has still not been returned. Despite multiple attempts to contact them and repeated promises, no refund has been made and there has been no transparent explanation. I lived 2 years in the apartment and always paid on time. Communication after the move-out was poor and unprofessional, and I was left with the impression that returning the deposit was intentionally delayed. I would strongly advise future tenants to be cautious, document everything carefully, and not rely on fair handling of the security deposit.

DO NOT LIVE HERE! Financial Malpractice and Safety Risks! Steer clear of this overpriced dump. It is an old converted hotel building splashed with "lipstick" to hide the major issues others have accurately noted via reviews. Though, I can add multiple apartment flooding issues and the extended closure of the indoor swimming pool (an amenity we are paying for) to the laundry list. Don’t ignore these resident realities. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and keep in mind that UpHouse could dispute these claims through Google if they were inaccurate and have the reviews taken down. As for my experience, in November, I was over-billed an astronomical $11,417. Management has gone completely radio silent following this overpayment. I have made multiple phone calls, sent emails, and showed up in person to the on-site management office without resolution. On-site management told me that the corporate office has to handle the matter. The delay in rectifying this issue is beyond unreasonable. This also isn't a one-time "glitch.” They have a documented history of over-billing me. Furthermore, be advised that a staff member has engaged in inappropriate actions in the past that directly threatened the safety of residents. Police were called to report one such situation, which ultimately resulted in the suspension of the employee, but not termination. Absolute negligence. Save your money and your sanity. Stay away. Update: UpHouse replied to this message above, and then deleted their response after my reply below made them look ridiculous. I’ve included the screenshot for context. So, in response to the UpHouse reply, let me make sure I understand this. New management’s “high level of service” policy is to address issues via Google reviews rather than returning calls or emails from residents directly? I am right here. You know where I live. Why has it taken 2 months to figure out the billing issue? By choosing to take the time to write a public review response instead of resolving the actual issue, you’re more than proving my point. Existing residents don’t really matter, PR damage control and filling units at any cost does. Regarding the flooding issues, yes the water leak from the apartment above was appropriately reported and thankfully ultimately fixed (after the first attempt to resolve the issue failed), before more of my personal property was destroyed. If you are truly committed to being “responsive and transparent,” please start by picking up the phone or answering my emails instead of performing for the public with a Google reply. Update to the Update: It took over two months to finally resolve the significant over-billing error referenced in this review. A management company that takes 9 weeks to fix a financial mistake is a massive red flag. While they tend to blame previous management for issues around here these days, on-site management personnel changed, not the company itself. Not to mention that I was initially told that “corporate needed to resolve the over-billing issue,” so the on-site management personnel turnover excuse doesn’t hold water. Prospective residents should also consider why this apartment building is currently offering two months of free rent. Successful operations don't need to “give away the store” to attract tenants. Don't be fooled and let the “carrot” distract you from the underlying operational issues and resulting uptick in vacancies that necessitate such drastic giveaways. Move to UpHouse at your own risk, it’s too late for me.

I just moved to another state from Connecticut and lived at Up House the last 3 years prior to my departure. I believe I was one of the 1st 30 or so people to live here as the complex wasn't fully built out and there were very few people currently living there when I moved in. Thought out my time here, the complex was built out and filled up to what it is today. Living here was such a good experience that I would not have moved if I didn't have to. The amenities are second to none, you really can't ask for more. In general the area is relatively secluded despite being right off the highway which is a best of both worlds scenario you can't get in many places. While living here, I had such a good relationship with the leasing office, particularly Jasmine. I could walk in anytime and it was always fun to talk to her and she was attentive to all my questions and requests. Then the maintenance crew were such a great group, particularly Harold and Kimron. We had so many great conversations and laughs during my time here, and they loved my dog! Overall, everyone here was so professional and friendly and I'm actually going to miss them so much. The only incidents that ever happened here were an expensive coffee maker got stolen from the lobby the first few months they were open, but immediately additional security measures were put in place that put everything way more on lockdown. Then the pool incident someone posted about in a review already which really wasn't a huge ordeal and nothing close to that ever happened again. Other than that, I did not see or hear of anything, and I was around almost everyday as I worked from home everyday with few exceptions. The only thing to note about living here if you're a pet owner (or even for non pet owners). Everyone here with pets is very respectful in regard to keeping distance with dogs as everyone's dog has different tolerances for socializing. Then some people's dogs bark more than others while they're inside. But the walls here are pretty thick and I mostly only noticed when walking my dog past all the windows on only one side of the building. Lastly, there are some people from time to time that don't pick up after their dogs but it was always a small minority of people, and Up House would go out of there way to pick it up if they saw it, despite the fact they really shouldn't have to. Overall, I really enjoyed this place and will actually consider living here again upon moving back to CT in 4-5 years if the housing market doesn't become more buyer favorable by that time. The team here really works hard to make this place an enjoyable place to live and I felt that during my time here.
