- TWTiger WolfDec 3, 20241.0Our loan originator Juliana lied to us and told us in 2022 that "Gateway is not in the business of reselling mortgages. We manage our own." This convinced us to do business with Gateway and sign for a mortgage in May 2022. Now, 30 months later, Gateway has improperly sold our loan off to some shady third party "RoundPoint" without our consent. When confronted about it via email, their "servicing department" decided to improperly send a portion of our loan documents over unsecured email with a bunch of our PII exposed, claiming that because they hid a clause in the contract that they were entitled to sell the loan, regardless of their originator's statement. Additionally a friend has a mortgage with them. They somehow shorted the escrow leading to a $700 extra monthly bill being added to their escrow. They also failed to communicate when the friend's insurance went up, leading to additional charges. Extremely unethical. Take your business elsewhere.
