Not a home for those who value silence, especially if you live on the ground floor. Very thin materials let almost all sounds leak through the ceiling. There's a "night manager on call", but it always goes to voice mail and nothing changes.
Upstairs neighbors can party and scream and blast music all they want, as often as they want. It's to the point where it's not even muffled sounds - you can hear every word yelled or sung on a speaker. You'll know where your upstairs neighbors are at all times because you will hear every footstep. The floors are that squeaky.
They also loosened restrictions on dogs. My upstairs neighbor's dog barks at everyone as they pass by. It runs around and shakes my ceiling too.
I suppose that if you want to live in a place where you can be as loud as you want with impunity, then The Aspens in Riverside is the ideal spot for you.
At least the groundskeepers do a great job maintaining the plants and pond.

I want to start off by saying this is not a bad review. At times it might seem like I’m complaining. However my time at The Aspens was short, but well spent. The Aspens is an awesome place and has a lot to offer for many people. It’s got a coy pond. Swimming pools. Pool tables. Gym. Birds on display in a cage. And one of my most fond memories, friendly cats just walking around being cat-like. There are lots of things to love about The Aspens and if you decide to make this your home I’m sure you’ll be happy.
All that being said. There are things that I wasn’t happy about and while no one issue on my list is a deal breaker. It just all kind of builds up and dampens the experience. The units themselves aren’t anything special. Just a standard 1970’s apartment with about 50 years worth of fresh paint. Infact. All that paint actually makes it mildly difficult to open cabinet doors and sometimes stuck to my dishes as they set inside the overly painted cabinets.
Some of the mildly annoying things. One of the first things I noticed and was a massive area of stress for me was that wall-to-wall light beige carpet. In the year 2019 (when I moved in) laminate flooring is an affordable and more durable alternative to carpeting. I might have been able to live with the light beige carpet except that The Aspens have MANY plants that drop carpet staining berries and olives. Before we even moved in the bit of carpet next to the door had already been stained.
There are other things that really got under my skin that I couldn't do anything about. Like the cabinets being misaligned with the sink. The plumbing in the bathtub is misaligned. I'm going to be posting photos of both of those. There was a small hole next to the dishwasher that allowed my cat to get stuck under the cabinets. After maintenance pulled out the washing machine and I went to reach for my cat I found an ample amount of trash under there from previous tenants. There are no washers and dryers inside the unit. They do have a laundry facility, but if you're like me and really desire a washer and dryer inside the unit you are not going to find that here. Perhaps one of the most annoying things was bugs. Literally every single morning as I walked out to my vehicle there would be at least one massive spider dangling from the trees. To say nothing of all the spiders that made a home out of my patio furniture.
Perhaps my one and only biggest complaint against this place. The one that really soured my experience there. Is not even the fault of management. It's theft. Porch Pirates are real at The Aspens. I had so many packages stolen off my front porch that I lost count. If you do move here, learn how to have things delivered to an Amazon locker nearby. Also, keep NOTHING inside your vehicle. Three times someone broke into my vehicle with a Slim Jim and stole my stuff. luckily, I never heard anything of real value in there. Because of this, I never felt safe at The Aspens. As a result, I ended up running my A/C all the time because I was too scared to open the windows.
