  I’m writing this so future tenants know what to expect. After move-in, our unit suffered water damage on two separate occasions due to plumbing issues in neighboring apartments. Both times, we were left to clean it up ourselves and deal with the mess without support. We were forced to relocate during repairs and were not provided an adequate temporary unit. During the second incident, maintenance insisted on entering our apartment at 1:00 AM to remove our toilet, even after I explicitly told them not to. The worst issue, however, was the excessive noise that began immediately after the flooring renovation in the penthouse above us. For the remaining eight months of our tenancy, we dealt with constant footstep and impact noise that made it extremely difficult to sleep, work, or enjoy our home. Despite our honest attempts to resolve the issue, management consistently ignored us, dismissed our concerns, and gaslit us. Nothing was done. Instead, we were forced to continue paying increased rent for a unit that became significantly worse in quality than when we moved in. If you’re comfortable paying $4,500+ per month to be woken up throughout the night by your upstairs neighbor’s footsteps, dog, and daily activities, this might be the place for you. But don’t expect management to care. E&S Ring ultimately stated that this level of noise does not violate quiet enjoyment, and that noise interfering with your sleep or ability to work from home is not their concern. For The Tides townhomes specifically: – You will get no cell service inside your home. – You will need two separate WiFi routers (one upstairs and one downstairs). – You will need an Ethernet cord running along your staircase because the wall outlets are outdated and nonfunctional. – Electricity costs were $200+ per month, even with minimal appliance use (no laundry or AC in the unit).

  I’ve been a tenant at Marina Harbor for 20 years and still consider it to be the best place to live in LA. The location is fantastic, I wake up to seals, the ocean and sunshine and the amenities are great. With 2 gyms, tennis courts, pools with outdoor grills, kayaks, paddle boards and so much more, there is always something fun to do. Management has been great and very helpful with issues in and around my apartment, all issues are promptly addressed. Monthly community events thrown by the office make it great to meet and befriend the neighbors and make this place feel more like home. Maintenance is always friendly and especially Maria, who is in charge of our building, is such a gem. I bump into her daily and have nice conversations, she plays with my dogs and always has a smile on her face. Overall a great place to live!
