This place used to be pretty good until they installed sunshades on all the windows. Management will not let you remove or adjust them (even though it seems they are designed to do so). The apartment has become so dark and depressing it’s really terrible.

Do not move here unless you want to live in a dark cave with no natural light. They recently installed sunshades on EVERY WINDOW in all apartments. If you adjust the part that is MADE TO BE ADJUSTED and removed you are quickly threatened with a lease violation. It is absolutely horrible living like this and despite multiple complaints from residents management will not budge. It should honestly be illegal but of course it is not because tenants have no rights against big corporations. Again do not move here, living with virtually no windows and no natural sunlight is UNHEALTHY. Very upsetting

I love living here! Staff and maintenance are always friendly, helpful, and on top of things. I love the layout and upgrades in my unit like my granite countertops, patio storage, large tub, valet trash (my least favorite chore), and package lockers (used to have to go stand in line at the post office for packages at my last place, we were on a first name basis there). Property is maintained well. Amenities were just upgraded. It’s walking distance to so many great places- restaurants, bars, shops, sports. My issues with the place are outside of the staff’s ability to control like the tiny parking spots (I think when it was built the idea was cars were getting smaller, but not actually the case now lol), and the noise on my side of the complex can be disturbing on the weekends, I just don’t leave the gates on those nights, and luckily I’m a heavy sleeper but someone else might have a hard time in my apartment (my dog sitter sure did-not sure how people who live at Camden or Envy sleep at night haha). Overall though, I’m extremely happy here. Just renewed my lease and only went up $50, my last place tried to up me $400 on renewal after a year, which is why we moved here. I have met some great neighbors, many stay to themselves but are typically friendly. We’ve only had issues with one, I think some people can’t handle drinking so much sometimes. All apartment complexes have their problems, but ultimately, this one is pretty great, plus you can’t beat the location. Also, the price is really good for this area. I definitely recommend living at San Marin if you’re looking for a place in Old Town near all the action!

We've lived at San Marin for 3+ years and it's been great. Location is perfect for a variety of activities. The pool and gym are great amenities. Staff and maintenance are always responsive and helpful. On separate occasions, our washer and dish washer broke and they had them replaced within a day or two.
