We did training for our two pittie dogs. Grace is an absolutely amazing trainer. She taught my husband and me so much about our dogs and about how we interact with them. She helped us understand their queues and behaviors so we could better anticipate and correct behaviors. Our dogs both loved her. Could not wait to put on their training collars and go see her each day. Though it is an investment, the 6 week training is definitely worth it. Go in knowing a training program for your pet is also a training program for YOU! You need to invest the time in learning and practicing what Grace teaches each week. If you do not put in the time, the training will not work long term. Grace really helped us enjoy our dogs more. Though we love them to bits, some situations were incredibly stressful and I dreaded them. Now I understand how the dogs think and I can prevent or manage the situations that used to create stress. Grace is highly intelligent, very knowledgeable and an excellent teacher to both dogs and humans. She really made training a fun process. She is also an incredibly nice and fun human to know. Highly recommend.

I hate to write this review because we’ve been loyal customers for 5 years. Spent thousands on training and grooming. We’ve used the same groomer for quite some time and have had one time where it was necessary to reach out after drop off. Last winter. We had tried another facility and his coat was not properly cared for and the groomer needed to cut some hair down and fix him. With a Samoyed this wasn’t ideal, but I understood. The groomer Sam did so beautifully and with constant communication. My exact words were please try your hardest to not cut any more of his coat than you have to.
Fast forward to this past Friday. We picked up our dog and the same groomer after many other successful grooms took it upon herself to clip all of his hair off. Removing his double coat completely. He not only looks ridiculous, but this is unbelievably cruel to do to an animal before winter. No conversation, communication, call, or other was made to discuss this. As stated by the corporate office, she admits to taking it upon herself to do what she thought was best. Didn’t consult the owner. Didn’t consult the manager. Didn’t consult the dog. Or apparently he “gave her permission”
WHY on earth would a client who spends $170 every 5 weeks to maintain a dog’s coat, pays for a SHEDEX package, and religiously groom the dog ever allow someone to shave their animal? He got clipped with no actual projecting coat. It’s unreal and ridiculous. It’s never growing back the way it was and the lack of recourse is sickening. I can’t put the hair back on and have to accept that someone took it upon themselves to do harm to an animal by removing their coat. With no communication or authority to do so. This is common knowledge. I’m beside myself thinking of all the money and maintenance we’ve put in to maintain him. Just for someone to buzz it all off. BEFORE WINTER. Nothing makes any sense and I’m so beyond frustrated. A free groom isn’t enough. This is not a fair position to put someone in.
Shame on this whole situation. It’s absolutely horrible.

Kennelwood is great. The staff have been outstanding meeting my needs and Jack perks up when he knows he is going to Kennelwood daycare and comes home tired but happy.

Grace did an amazing job training our lab Toby. He is the best-behaved puppy we’ve ever had. People who meet him are constantly remarking about how good he is - we always attribute it to Grace’s training.

Our pups came to Kennelwood for training. We worked with trainer, Grace Clemens. We were so impressed as to what she taught our dogs and then working with us to continue the training at home. You can tell she has a great passion for training dogs. Grace made it seem so simple. If you follow through on what she teaches us owners it really is. Grace also did a 1 hour follow up with us and our pups, to check in on how we are doing and addressing any problems we might be having. Plus we can reach out to her anytime by text, to answer any training problems we are running into. I now feel confident we could have company, and control our pups at the same time. Also was at the vet the other day, I was so proud of their behavior. Thanks to Grace. As you can tell we highly recommend Grace Clemens. Thank you, Grace!
